Hadley’s Bakery Opens Saturday; Will Serve Free Ice Cream and Cake Opening of the new Hadley’s bakery at the northwest corner of Center and Los Angeles streets is set for Saturday, according to announcement today by W. R. Hadley, the owner. Mr. Hadley, who has been in the baking business for 37 years, has installed the latest type of baking equipment. A complete line of bakery products will be made at the new establishment, and in addition, a complete fountain service will be offered. New fountain display cases have been installed, and other improvements made in the past few weeks. During Saturday’s opening, free servings of ice cream and cake will be offered all who visit the new bakery. All baking will be done where the public may watch the bakers at work. Mr. Hadley was in the Hawaiian Islands for 27 years, operating his own business for 12 years of that time. Previously he was connected with Los Angeles baking establishments. Old Acquaintance The establishment of the new business is of particular interest to Roch Conklin, who owns the Conklin Printing company a few feet from the bakery location. Conklin also spent several years in Honolulu and was a customer of Hadley's bakery, and their children attended the same school in Honolulu. Neither knew the other was in Anaheim until so informed by a mutual friend a few days ago.
