Casper Mellum Claimed by Death Casper Mellum, "Cap" to his many friends, passed away at his home at 915 North Olive street, on Sunday, March 19, after an extended illness. His health had been failing for several years. Born in Norway 66 years ago, he came to the United States in 1892 and to Anaheim ten years ago. Surviving are his wife, Josephine R. Mellum of the home; a son, Lester Mellum of South Dakota; two brothers, John Mellum of South Dakota and Clarence Mellum of Los Angeles; and two sisters, Mrs. Ellen J. Post and Mrs. Marie Greene, both of Minnesota. Funeral services were held from the chapel of Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars mortuary Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. L. E. Elfert, pastor of Zion Lutheran church, officiating. Interment was in Anaheim cemetery.
