SAYS...
Here is a real opportunity for women who are college graduates. A recent directive from the Department of the Army—The WAC Procurement Program, announces a plan for the appointment of college graduates as Second Lieutenants in the WAC Army.
Applications of college graduates who are interested in making a career in the Army will receive pay and allowances of second lieutenants in a variety of fields, plus travel and advancement advantages. Qualified applicants must be single, between 21 and 27, with college degrees. They must have no dependents under 18 years of age and must be physically fit and of good moral character.
The program is open to enlisted women of the regular Army now on active duty and civilian women who are college graduates who meet the prescribed qualifications.
Major Eleanore C. Sullivan of the Army, General Staff, Washington, will be in Los Angeles on or about January 8th to inaugurate this program at the various colleges and universities.
All interested applicants may secure details by contacting Capt. Andrea Aiken, 155 West Washington Boulevard, which is the headquarters of the U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force Recruiting Service for the southern district.
There are also many opportunities for single women between the ages of 18 and 35 in the WACS and WAFS as enlisted women. WAC and WAF applicants must be high school graduates or hold a state recognized diploma. They attend Camp Lee, Virginia, while WAFS receive 11 weeks basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
Assignments are similar for both WAC and WAF and are made at the completion of basic training. At that time applicants may enroll in technical schools for further technical training or completion of their education toward a career. Courses offered by the various Army service schools include tabulating machine operation, classification specialist training, information and education, stenography, dental technicians, food service, pharmacy procedure, finance, drafting, topographic training and many others.
In addition to an education and training, WACS and WAFS receive free food, clothing, dental and medical care with 30 days vacation with pay every year. Now is the time to come in and investigate the possibility of your future in the WAC or WAF.

Fair Managers Hold College In Palm Springs
Nearly 75 managers and directors of 21 California county and district fairs situated south of Fresno are scheduled to meet in Palm Springs, January 11 through 13, to attend the annual College of Fairs.

He will report on a recently pleted survey of commercial exhibitors in the East and Midwomen he contacted for the pose of attracting them to formia fairs in 1950.

Williams, Manager, Pacific Natl Exposition, British Columbia; McMurray, secretary - man Western Washington Fair, Pluplup, Wash.; Donald P. Van Chief architectural designer.
