Favor Santa Ana in Turkey Day Game with Fullerton
Orange county gridiron fans are all set for their annual Turkey Day classic between Santa Ana and Fullerton Junior colleges to be played Thanksgiving Day at the Santa Ana Municipal bowl.
Bill Cook's undefeated, untied Dons will be out not only to defeat Fullerton but also to make a loud enough whack to cause the Little Rose Bowl officials to stand up and take note.
Whether Ed Goddard can get his Indians whooped up enough to hit the warpath come Thursday remains to be seen. His team has come through with but two victories against six losses and a tie.
The high-flying Dons who play out of just about every formation ever devised are certain to be prohibitive favorites against the Indians who saw fit to mutiny against their coach mid-way during the season.
Smoke Peace Pipe
However all parties concerned took deep drags on the peace pipes and reports from the north indicate that Goddard's Braves are set to clean some scalps off the touchdown-minded Dons.
Cook is taking no changes and has been reminding his boys that Santa Ana has yet to experience an easy win over Fullerton.
Fullerton will be at full strength for the first time since early season with Bob Ferguson and Bill Newton both back in the line-up. Ferguson who led the nation's scorers as a prep star at Fullerton high and has been a standout in the Eastern conference this year is figured to give the Dons no little
State Releases 76,689 Pheasants
Sacramento, (WNS)—The state division of fish and game announced today that it had released a total of 76,689 pheasants in 42 counties this year, topping all previous records.
Of the total birds released, the division said 250 were set free in Orange county.
All male pheasants released, according to Carl Van Ornum, chief of game farms, are banded, and hunters are urged to return the metal leg band to the division's Ferry Building Office in San Francisco, giving the location and date of the kill.
The state maintains 14 game farms, and the cost of raising pheasants for release is about $2.25 per bird, according to estimates made by officials of the division.

Don Injuries
Over Santa Ana way, the picture isn't quite as rosy with fullback Fred Mirchoff nursing a bruised hip, Franny Kluewer disabled with a deep cut over his left eye and co-captain Carlos Lillywhite a doubtful starter as a result of a scrimmage-sustained chest injury.
End Ed Nearing who reinjured his ankle at San Berdoo last week is definitely out. The silver lining on the Don overcast is the return of first string left tackle Dick Adams who though used sparingly last week is reported to be raring to go against Fullerton.

Anaheim Plant Gave Growers Doubled Returns
Installation of the new high vacuum-low temperature equipment for processing quick-frozen concentrates of citrus juices at the Anaheim plant of Real Gold Citrus Products this year resulted in doubled returns to the citrus grower, according to Frank S. Gunter, chairman of the Board of Mutual Orange Distributors, parent organization of R.G.C.P.
In his remarks at the cooperative's annual meeting Gunter voiced high praise for the "fore sight of General Manager Robbins Russell who early realized that the catastrophic freeze of last winter would result in greatly increased tonnage at the plant.
"Inasmuch as the manufacture of these frozen products required a low temperature process to preserve the quality of the fruit flavor, a special type of low temperature concentrator had to be constructed to produce the high quality products demanded by buyers.
"As there was no plant of its kind in California, it was necessary to erect a pilot plant at South Gate by the C. E. Howard Corp., before ours was installed to insure successful operation. After some delays in construction and low sugar content of the fruit, we began running substantial tonnage by August.
"We are now able to process under the new method a tremendously increased volume of fruit. The quality of the frozen juice has at the present time. The results fully justify the expense entailed," Gunter said.
Solons Declared Ineligible for Interim Work
Sacramento, (WNS)—Fourteen assemblymen and two state senators have been declared ineligible for further interim committee work by State Controller Thomas H. Kuchel.
Kuchel said all have exceeded the 40-day maximum limitation which a member of the legislature may serve upon a single house committee under the terms of a new constitutional amendment adopted November 8.
He said while members are not prohibited from continuing to serve upon a committee they cannot draw the $15 per day expense allowance granted to members of the legislature for service upon an interim committee.
Included in the group are Senators Fred Weybret of Salinas, who is presently heading an investigation of the activities of pension promoter George H. McLain, and Senator Hugh M. Burns, chairman of the Senate Un-American Activities Committee.
Assemblymen listed are Bernard Brady, San Francisco; Randal F. Dickey and Francis Dunn, Jr., both of Alameda county; Clayton A. Dills, Thomas M. Erwin, John Evans, Carl Fletcher, Ernest Geddes, Jonathan Hollbaugh, Vernon Kilpatrick, Lester McMillan and A. I. Stewart, all of Los Angeles; Richard McCollister.
Loans and discounts outstanding November 1 were $31,145,599 high than at June 30, and the bank's investment in United States obligations increased by $78,278,100. Deposit totals shown in the call report do not include the figures foreign branches or of reciprocal bank balances. After some delays in construction and low sugar content of the fruit, we began running substantial tonnage by August.
"We are now able to process under the new method a tremendously increased volume of fruit. The quality of the frozen juice has exceeded our expectation and the demand is taxing plant capacity.
