Social and Club Activities Beverley Meyers Is Bride of Orlo Fast in Sunday Ceremony Miss Beverly Lorraine Meyer, daughter of Victor C. Meyer of 9942 East Katella avenue, this city, became the bride of Orlo Eugene Fast, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl L. Fast of 909 North Zeyn street, last Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock in the chapel of Capilla de San Antonio, the Rev. George Jenkins performing the ceremony. Large baskets of white gladiolus with lighted white tapers in candelabra were used against the natural garden setting of the altar. The bride, given in marriage by her father, approached the altar on a white aisle runner with large satin bows and lighted tapers with small bouquets to complete the beautiful settings for the ceremony. Her gown was fashioned of white cyelet and organdy with a fitted bodice, low neckline, long sleeves and full skirt ending in a long train. Her fingertip veil fell in graceful folds from a Dutch halo and she carried a bridal bouquet of white gladioli with white satin shower streamers. Miss Gloria Kunz, maid of honour, wore soft green organy with fitted bodice, full skirt trimmed at the bottom with bias fold and bow effect, which was also used on her short sleeves. The bodice neckline was finished with a Peter Pan collar. Her bouquet was an arm arrangement of peach gladioli and her dress was of matching material in the same Dutch effect as the bride's. Miss Maureen Story and Miss Gloria Saunders, bridesmaids, in gowns of peach organy identical in style to that of the maid of honor, carried arm bouquets of green-toned gladioli and wearing mitts to complete their costumes. They each wore Dutch style headdress. Nancy Simms of San Diego, a cousin, was flower girl. Her gown was yellow organy and she carried a basket filled with yellow flower petals. Jack Paulus was best man with Charles Clark and Virgil Fast the ushers. Chad Boliek was soloist for the wedding with Mrs. A. F. Faust at the console of the organ. Nuptial songs were "One Alone" and Malotte's "Lord's Prayer," which was sung very softly as the young couple were kneeling for the blessing. Miss Virginia Casey accompanied on the violin for prelude music. The reception immediately following the ceremony was held in the garden with the bridal couple Mrs. Edna Butterfield, aunt of the bride, Mr. Meyer, her father and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fast in the receiving line. Miss Betty Saunders and Miss Casey presided at the refreshment table and Miss Joanne Cox had charge of the guest oook. The young couple cut the first piece of cake in the traditional fashion portending good luck for them through their married life. The newlyweds plan to make their home at 149 North Lemon street upon their return from a two weeks honeymoon trip. The new Mrs. Fast is a graduate of Anaheim Union high school and attended Fullerton Junior college. Mr. Fast is also a graduate of the local school and Fullerton Junior college. Donald Woods Stars In "Broomstick" At Holiday Stage "Broomstick," a brand-new comedy by Muriel and William Bolton, occupys the boards of Holiday Stage this week. The light farce has the usual weak spots present in the initial performances of a play but the sparkling humor, sharp line and the presence of Donald Woods in the male lead, more than make it top summer stock bill of fare. Its a "bewitching" tale of a man (Donald Woods) who marries the apple of his eye (June Lewis) only to discover that her spinster sister (Maurine Cookson) was included in the bargain. After six months of marital bliss he's ready to return to the pleasant evils of wine, women and song. At this point up pops a witch-searching luscious witch (also portrayed by June Lewis) who raises havoc but in the end its her witchy tactics which give the tale "A happy ever after" ending. Top comedy is reached in a scene where Woods after introducing John Alvin to a "Holstein Hustler" proceeds to read his fortune from the drops of milk in the bottom of the glass. Maurine Cookson returns to Tustin in the role of the spinster devoted to the promulgation of the "Retreat for Radiant Grace Lutheran Group Honors Mrs. Michel Tues. Eve Members of the Friendship Circle of Grace Lutheran church honored Mrs. E. Michel with a surprise house-warming party at her new home at 620 North Zeyn street last Tuesday evening. Opening the program, the assembled group sang two songs, "Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus" and "Jesus Calls Us O'er the Tumult" followed by the devotional period by Mrs. Ben Ter Beest, who used for her subject studies in Isaiah, chapters 49 to 53. During the business session a report was given on the displaced persons who were brought to this country by the committee for the Lutheran churches and several of whom are in this county. A number of them were guests at the church services last Sunday and as a further courtesy to them, the Circle has planned a potluck to be held at La Palma park on Sunday, Sept. 11.
