Gowned in heavy white satin,
Miss Elizabeth (Betty) Redd of Anaheim, daughter of Mrs. Nellie Redd of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Harold H. McCreight of Los Angeles, son of Mrs. Ida McCriegt of Venice, were wed Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the sanctuary of St. Boniface Catholic church, this city, with the Father David Coleman reciting the nuptial Mass for the semi-formal ceremony.
Given in marriage by her brother, James Redd of Long Beach, the bride carried a fan shaped bouquet of cerise roses centered with lilies of the valley and a white orchid. Traditional sentiment was found in the strand of pearls from Japan which she wore, a gift from her bridegroom. The stone in the heirloom bracelet was blessed at Lourdes Shrine in France.
Her colonial satin gown was designed with a fitted bodice, pointed front and back at the waistline, sheerest net yoke with narrow off-shoulder bertha pointed front and back, long fitted sleeves pointed at the wrist and full skirt entrain.

Tommy Lee Harvey
1-Year Old Friday
In celebration of his first birthday, Tommy Lee's mother, Mrs. D. C. Harvey of 550 South Resh street, this city, invited a number of his small friends to help him celebrate the occasion last Friday afternoon with a birthday party.
Games for the little folk was chosen and as favors of the event, each little guest was presented sand buckets with shovels and balloons. A cake with one candle was cut and served with ice cream at the refreshment course to Mrs. Boyd Johnson and Pegeen; Mrs. Bob Richard, Elleen and Janet; Mrs. Earnest Richard and Mary Alice; Mrs. Ray Pelle and Johnny; Mrs. Reuben Jarmon and Janet Leigh and Mrs. Frank DeMeneces and Martha.
Present for the family dinner in the evening other than his parents were Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Pace of this city.
bride had been employed previous to her marriage. She is graduate of Moline Senior high school, Moline, Illinois, and a tended Fullerton Junior college receiving her degree in cosmetology, class of 1947.
Her bridegroom, a graduate of Putnam (Connecticut) high school class of 1941, has been affiliated with the USMC for the past seven years.
For the wedding Mrs. Ankroo mother of the new Mrs. Smith chose a carmel-toned dress worn with brown accessories and a coat sage of pink carnations.

Graduates from Colorado 'U'
Hartley Irving Starr, son of Mrs. Carleton Starr, 312 E.Cypress street, Anaheim, receives his bachelor of science degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Colorado in Denver, June 13, Monday, during the ninety-seventh commencement exercises for 1,638 students, the largest class in the history of the known institution.
The Anaheim couple left week to witness the graduation program.
The number of 1949 candidates for degrees exceeded last year's class of 1,316 by more than 30 and was almost three times larger than the pre-war class of 18 when 641 students graduated. Nearly two-thirds of this year's graduates were veterans with 1,050 G. I. students receiving ogres. Twenty-one of the graduates were from California.

Each of their identical gowns were designed with fitted bodice, full flare skirt, wide shirred off-shoulder bertha, short puff sleeves and a back bow worn with matching mitts and crown of net.

The matron of honor carried a fan shaped bouquet of rose-tinted talisman roses. The bride's maids carried pink and rose gladioli. White gladioli against a background of palms were arranged at the altar.
Serving as best man was George Sommerville of Los Angeles. Michael Norton of Los Angeles and Raul Romandia of Burbank, ushered.
William Fackiner, nuptial soloist, sang "The Lord's Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. A. F. Faust, church organist.
More than 200 relatives and other guests attended the reception immediately following the ceremony. Gardenias and blue delphinium were arranged on the bride's table.

Wed at Capilla
Quiet simplicity marked the wedding of Lois Nadine Ankrom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Ankrom, 901 North Clementine street, Anaheim, and T/Sgt. Donald Wetherbee Smith, VMR-152 (Navigation), El Toro Base, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold O. Smith, Pomfert Center, Connecticut, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Capilla de San Antonio, with the Rev. F. W. Niedringhaus, Congregational minister of Santa Ana, officiating for the double-ring garden ceremony.
The bride wore a ballerina length ensemble of white lace over white taffeta, fashioned with boiler jacket, flared skirt, short sleeves and worn with lace mitts. Traditional sentiment was found in a handkerchief borrowed by the bridegroom's mother, carried at her wedding and also at the wedding of the bridegroom's sister.
Given in marriage by her father the bride carried a white prayer book upon which rested a corsage of white roses.
Maid of honor was Miss Carolyn Lighter wearing an afternoon dress of pastel blue trimmed with dainty white lace. She had a matching headpiece. Her bouquet was a nosegay of red, blue and gold flowers.
Serving as best man was T/Sgt. Donald F. Muller, both of El Toro.
Ronald E. Ankrom, brother of the bride, presented two nuptial solos, "I Love Thee" and "Because," and played a violin solo of "The Lord's Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. A. F. Faust, organist, of Anaheim.
Witnesses to the ceremony were approximately 75 very close friends and relatives of the bridal couple. Due to illness, parents of the bridegroom were unable to attend the nuptials.

Holiday Stage Ends Casting
JOHN ALVIN
With the selection this week of three more young artists, the all-summer stock company of Holiday Stage completed its signing of actresses and actors for the third season at Tustin, beginning June 27 under the direction of Producers Norman Mennes, Florence and Harold Turney. Those signed include John Alvin, Peter Adams and June Lewfs.
Alvin will be remembered by many theater-goers for his performance at Holiday Stage last summer in "I Remember Mama," "The Golden Apple," "Merton of the Movies" and "Goodbye Again."
During the past winter the young actor has had a busy season in all four mediums of show business. He played with June Havoc in the stage play "Rain" at the Circle theater in Hollywood.
Turtle,” “Barrett’s of Wimpole Street,” “Peg 'O My Heart,” and “The Pursuit of Happiness.” A veteran of professional summer theatre, Adams has a background of three seasons at the Woodstock Summer theatre and two at the Tamarek playhouse in upper New York state.
Season tickets for the ten plays including “Two Adams for Eve,” are now selling by mail order. Single production tickets may be obtained when the Tustin theater ticket office opens June 20.
Make Items for Vet Hospital
Initiating the beautiful new home of Mrs. Mary Fordyce, 735 North Lemon street, 21 members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary met last Thursday evening to sew for the Sawtelle Veteran's hospital.
During the session the auxiliary seamstresses made 250 soakers for the hospital.
Delicious refreshments were served by Mrs. Fordyce, assisted by Mrs. Lennie Campbell.
Enjoy Arizona Utah Vacation
Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Garshwiler, 915 North Janss street, this city, returned home Sunday afternoon after enjoying a week's vacation touring scenic spots in Utah and Arizona.
Especially beautiful, according to "Garsh," was the north rim of Bryce canyon. The Navajo steel bridge also received the local couple's attention.
Other points of interest included the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon and visits to Wuputki, Sunset Crater, Walnut canyon, Montezuma Well and
outstanding alumni were held during the exercises. Donald H. Tippett, superintendent of the San Francisco area Methodist church, received Norlin Medal for outstanding achievement. Also honored was N. McClellan, chief engineer of the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation, widely known for his contributions in water-resource development, who was awarded theary degree of Doctor of Engineering.
University president Robert L. has spoke to the graduates conferred the degrees.

June Lewis comes to Tustin for her first season direct from a long tour in "Personal Appearance," "The Man Who Came to Dinner," and "My Sister Eileen." Previously she starred in the first Pacific Coast production of "Laura."
Peter Adams will join Holiday Stage after two winters with the Playhouse professional stock company in Albany, New York, where among his eighty-odd roles, he played the lead in "Voice of the
