"Have a Heart" tag day will be conducted by the Volunteers of America, in Anaheim next Saturday when local children will sell heart tags to help raise funds for destitute mothers with children and other unfortunates in care of the organization, it was just announced.
The local committee in charge of the drive here comprises the Rev. P. G. Neumann, the Rev. Father Henry W. Gross, the Rev. Al Casebeer, M. A. Gauer, Mrs. Wilbert H. Bonney, Mrs. Richard R. Roehm, Mrs. C. I. Andrews, Mrs. Ray Ortez, Jr., and Mrs. Floyd Peterson.
Mrs. Dorothy Link will be in charge of the young people's work in the Boy Scout offices, 111 West Chartres street.
The Volunteers of America or-
organization was founded 53 years ago by General Ballington and Mrs. Maude Booth. It has received nationwide commendation on its humanitarian activities, Anaheim spokesmen stated. The Volunteers maintain homes for children, homes for the aged, homes for girls, fresh air summer camps for underprivileged children, as well as relief stations where food, clothing, lodging and medical aid are given.
Prizes for the children who secure the larger amount for their tags are being donated through the courtesy of the following merchants: Victor G. Loly, jeweler; Smith's Jewelry; Hurst Jewelry Company; The S. Q. R. Store; Vella Ann Shop; J. C. Penny Company; Woolwerth; S. H. Kress Company; Wisser Sport Shop; Clarice Sports Wear; A. B. Richardson; Bob Williams Sporting Goods and the Fox and Anaheim motion picture theaters.
"The touch of human kindness" is a phrase used often to describe the particular type of welfare work accomplished by Mrs. Booth who devoted nearly a lifetime of service to the cause of
Christian worship is divine and human. Both God and man are involved. The former is the object of worship, while the latter is the worshiper. Public worship has a human leader, but he must have divine direction if those present meet God. Further, God moves on the aiding destitute families of oners. She also worked in paroled or men disclosing from penal institutions, some of the Volunteer's here.
Most of such cases aforementioned come to the organ through wardens or chaplains which were completed last week. The sale price for property is listed in excess $27,000.
Representing both parties in the transaction was George Tinan, Santa Ana realtor.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
The Golden Text of the Lesson-Sermon on "Unrealities all branches of The Mother O'Catholic Church of Christ," tist, in Boston, is from the Biblical Book of Isaiah, in which Thou hast dealt well with servant, O Lord, according unto word . . . Through thy precept understanding: therefore every false way."
In a Scriptural passage Exodus: Moses says: "But, they will not believe me, nor h unto my voice: for they will The Lord hath not appeared thee. And the Lord said unto What is that in thine hand? he said, A rod. And he said it on the ground. And he on the ground, and it became perent; and Moses fled from it. And the Lord said unto Put forth thine hand, and to by the tall. And he put for
Christian worship is divine and human. Both God and man are involved. The former is the object of worship, while the latter is the worshiper. Public worship has a human leader, but he must have divine direction if those present meet God. Further, God moves on the individual heart and is the source of its freedom. God is in both the order and the spontaneity, the social and the individual factors. Without His presence there can be no real worship.
The largest spiritual freedom results from corporate worship in which all individuals exalt the Lord as Master of their lives. Why not accept the invitation and COME TO CHURCH NEXT SUNDAY?
—Rev. D. Carl Yoder.
Our Preacher Says
Getting away from the seen into the unseen is your unlimited power. Select the thought you want in your outer manifestations, and that thought which you embody will be manifested in your outer world. If you do not want ill effects in your life, you cannot take poison into your stomach; so it is with negative thoughts. Like produces like. Your mind is your storehouse for good or ill.
Labor so to live that at death you rejoice rather than fear.
It matters not who is for you or against you, if God be with you in everything.
DO YOU KNOW...
1. What was Jesus' answer to the statement, "Master, behold the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away"?
2. How much faith did Jesus say it took to remove mountains?
3. Finish this sentence: "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them . . .
4. What happens to a man who will not forgive?
5. Why did the enemies of Christ not kill Him when he told the parable of the wicked husbandman?
DO YOU KNOW ANSWERED...
1. "Have faith in God."
2. "Faith as a grain of mustard seed."
3. "...and ye shall have them."
4. "Neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."
5. "They feared the people."

GIRL SCOUT NEWS
The founding of Anaheim, and how Anaheim acquired its name (Home in the Valley of the Santa Ana) was the subject of a talk by Ted Kuchel before members of Troop 8 on a recent date. Mrs. Peter Schmitz, leader, also invited members of Cub Scout Pack 173 to sit in on the talk and an informal question and answer discussion followed.
Troop 8, in connection with work on the Garden Flower badge, has also made a visit to the hothouse in the city park where Mrs. Robert Edens demonstrated the method used to slip Coleus plants. They also learned how to plant, transplant and how to make up a flat for planting flower seed.
The dude ranch at Lemon Heights was the destination of members of Benjamin Franklin Girl Scouts from Troop 23, when accompanied by their leaders, Mrs. Walter Taylor and Mrs. Archie Henry, they enjoyed a program of cooking, games, hiking and fun over a pleasant week-end.
St. Patrick's Day was theme for a Treasure Hunt party also enjoyed by girls of Troop 23. Following a brief business meeting, girls embarked upon a treasure hunt and found at its close a sucker for each.
Following completion of their dirndl skirts, members of St. Boniface Troop 9 have now started their cooking badge and are working to become 1st Class Scouts
County Health Group Plan to Expand Program
Physical, mental and dental health will continue to be the major program of the Health Council of Orange county while further study is given the proposals to expand the council for inclusion of welfare agencies. This was decided at the regular council meeting held Tuesday night in the YWCA lounge in Santa Ana with the newly elected president, Mrs. Hilda B. Redmond, presiding. Seated with the new president were Mrs. Miriam Nikkila, vice-president; Mrs. Nell Miller, secretary; and Dr. Raymond C. Leer, treasurer, who were introduced by Miss Thelma Patton, past president.
The need for a general coordinating council of health and welfare agencies, both public and private, were approved by the representatives of such agencies present. A planning committee will submit an organization chart with recommendations at the next meeting. Mental health was the subject given thoughtful consideration by the group after the review of the Mental Health Conference in Sacramento on March 3 and 4 was given by Dr. Herbert Bauer and Warren Mendenhall who had attended that conference. Dr. Bauer didn't waste a word during the ten minutes he gave factual information to his intensely interested audience. He pointed out that since mental health is our number one problem in the state, the most significant matter emphasized at the conference was that under proper guidance and consultation, local areas can use their own facilities to the best advantage for sonic Temple, Dad Advise Hoag announced at night's meeting.
