Kiwanians See Hallowe'en Movie Tuesday's Anaheim Kiwanis club meeting was enlivened by President Clyde Nickle's report of the San Jose convention which he attended with Roscoe Young, secretary of the club. The members made numerous suggestions about how the report should be taken care of but were over-ruled by the chair. It was announced that next week's meeting would be held on Monday in joint session with the Rotary club. Coach 'Jeff' Cravath of the Southern California Trojans will be the speaker for the meeting. Program chairman Ted Payne had charge of the day's program and colored moving pictures of the last Hallowe'en celebration were shown to the club. Young GOP Launching Plans Reorganization of the county units of the Orange County Young Republicans and plans for sending a delegation to the state convention of Young Republicans at Los Angeles March 12, were discussed last week at a meeting in Orange of the organization. The group met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baeskins. Mrs. Baeskens, the former Lelia Eastman, headed the county's Republican Central committee for two years. Spencer Browning of Santa Ana heads the membership committee. Final Plans Set For Ladies Night Co-chairmen Herman Hoch and Kenneth Heuler discussed final plans for the Anaheim Toastmasters ladies night Valentine party to be held February 14, at La Palma Grill, during the regular dinner-meeting Monday evening at the Grill, president Hoch presiding. The well-polished Patterson trophy was awarded to Heuler for his speech, "Is Your Insurance Paid?" The Optimists' trophy and second honors went to Aubrey Van Verst for his baseball talk, "Are You One of 21 Million?" Other speakers were Vic Huber discussing "Rogets' Thesuarus," and Robert H. Allen presenting an extemporaneous discussion of "My Opinion of the New Cars." Louis Taylor told of the fine reception given him and C. O. Garshwiler when they were guests of Smedley Club No. 1, Santa Ana, at its meeting on January 26 at the Rossmore cafe. Garshwiler took second place. Special highlight of the evening was the recording of predictions for this year and the reading of predictions made by club members in 1947 for 1948. In 1950 a resume of those given last Monday will be read. The invocation for the meeting was given by C. J. Stillson. Evaluator was Al Holve and grammarian, Jim Auest. "Housing," was the subject presented for round-table discussion by Ed Wright, table topic master. Tonight (Thursday) Al Holve will give a talk based on an Abraham Lincoln theme at the local Toastmistress installation. Mrs. Salome Fellin Claimed by Death Mrs. Salome Fellin, 90 years of age, passed away in Oxnard on Tuesday, Jan. 27. Born in Lietenstein, she had been a resident of California since 1914. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Olga Frey of Fellows, Calif., a son, Joseph Fellin of Auburn; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Recitation of Holy Rosary was held Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock in the chapel of Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars mortuary with Mass Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Boniface Catholic church. Interment was in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. A baby daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Navara, 317 South Bush street, Anaheim, last Thursday at Fullerton General hospital.
