Fishing, Hunting News Received
Last minute fishing and duck hunting information was received by Bob Williams, local sporting goods store owner, this week. Best duck hunting is reported at Palo Verde. Trout are most plentiful at Eldorado, Nevada, 28 miles below Boulder Dam on the Colorado river, and at Lake Gregory.
Complete information concerning Eldorado may be obtained from Williams who reported that trout are being caught fly fishing at Big Bear and Arrowhead Lakes, although not to the same extent.
Port Orange fishermen stated that Ben Bottger of this city, took top angling honors last week with a catch of a 42-pound black sea bass. Out of that harbor 17 anglers found white sea bass plentiful as well as small white sea bass and halibut which ran "thick and fast" but have average weight of under three pounds. The party was aboard the "Missawitt."
In the Balboa bay and Harbor area halibut and jack snout are also being taken.
