Gauld the audience Tuesday night: The total proposed bond of $575,000 is to be paid out over a period of 25 years. The diary has at present outstanding $8 in bonds. The assessed value of the district is $20,999,235 per cent and payment principal of $25,000 a year would require a tax rate of 21 cents per cent of assessed valuation the year with a gradually decrement in subsequent years until bonds were paid. A. G. Tuma treasurer, averaged the value over 300 Anaheim homes found it to be about $1800. To the interest and principal in years would therefore include the taxes of the average owner about $3.78 a year or more than a cent a day. To be safe side, however, the trustees have estimated the sessed value of the average house in Anaheim at $2500 and that increase in taxes would be a year or about 1½ cents a day on present assessed value of district. In figures, the need for the additional facilities the bond may provide works out something like this: At present there are from 31 to 37 pupils in a class room. The generally maximum number for best suits — for the pupil — is nine pupils. At present the enrollments in kindergartens is so great that rooms are compelled to work two shifts. Get an accurate idea of the effects for growth of a school town, school men look at kindergarten space for Fair Opening Scotty Hudson, who spends most of his time raising tuberous begonias at Huntington Beach, is the general manager of the annual flower show at Long Beach and at the Pomona fair he took about every ribbon in sight for tuberous begonias. Phil Hopkins or Anaheim, who has charge of the industrial tent, is as content as Scotty Hudson with the way his show is shaping up. The 260 by 100 foot big top, which will house this exhibit, will contain the best of all the industrial exhibits made at the Pomona fair. Practically every industrial concern in the county has taken space, but still the greater number will be from points outside the county. One of the outstanding exhibits is being prepared by Knott's Berry Place which will make a specialty of serving Boysenberry juice. Another will be the "electric marketeteer," the electric sidewalk conveyance that is seen in increasing numbers in southern California towns and cities. This little vehicle is manufactured at Redlands. Another outstanding exhibit will be the Woodshed, a new Yorba Linda concern which made the memorable fixtures for El Patio, Orange county's new restaurant at San Juan Capistrano. A great exhibit is being prepared by Gate Way, Inc., whose builders' hardware factory is the biggest construction job now going on in Anaheim. Other notable exhibits are being prepared by the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph company, the Holly Sugar corporation which will make and give away sugar at its display space and, the Calfflow orange juicer which is manufactured in Fullerton. For the horse show, E. W. Moeller, general manager of the fair, Stars will be interspersed with horse show features on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This troupe includes Cliff Stone, star of radio whose recordings have a big sale, Merle Travers and Eddie Kirk, who sing and accompany themselves on the guitar, Herman The Hermit, well known banjoist, Tennessee Ernie who is a comedian and G. Hayden, singer. There will be in addition several acts of high class vaudeville, including Casa Mexicano by the well known team of Moro and Yacconnelli and Sarge Flash, considered one of the best jugglers in the United States. Fair grounds are being prepared on Palm street opposite La Palma Park. Highlighting the many exhibits which display Orange county products at the fair will be unusual flower displays in the Agricultural and Educational tent. The high school art departments from Huntington Beach, Garden Grove and Anaheim will feature floral arrangements and photographic exhibits, the Costa Mesa Fuchsia Society, the Orange county branch of the American Begonia Society, Hansen's Nursery in Buena Park, the Ellis Brothers' Nursery in Corona Del Mar and the Allen Dahlia Gardens of Westminster are completing plans for participating in the fair.
