Avocado Men To Hear About Crop Outlook The outlook for avocado production and marketing will be one of the important discussions presented at the 20th Annual Avocado Growers Institute Friday (tomorrow) at La Habra. Jack Shepherd of Calavo Growers will speak on this subject which is uppermost in the minds of avocado growers, according to Adolph Bosch. Orange, chairman of the morning session that starts at 9:45 a.m. The institute will be held at Washington school, La Habra. A question and answer period will be featured on the afternoon program. It will be conducted by a growers' panel consisting of E. T. McFadden, Santa Ana; Ray Marsh, La Habra; Don Hardison, Ventura and Elwood Trask of Carlsbad. R. E. Puffer, Extension Service, will direct the question panel. New recipes for the avocado will be demonstrated by Marian Prentiss, Home Demonstration agent of Orange county and Lucille Spetman of Los Angeles county. Other topics on the day's program are: 2-4,D Experiments on Avocados, The Avocado Research Program, Avocado Verticillium Wilt — A New Disease, Avocado Maturity Tests, Avocado Rootstock Tests and The Avocado Industry Outside of California.
