Angeles street, in this city, along with his family and more than 1000 dealers and their families attended the formal showing of the Kaiser 1949 model automobile when it was presented to southern California at the Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach last Saturday.
Present at the occasion were several high officials of the Kaiser Corporation, including Joe Frazer, Henry Kaiser, Jr.; Henry Kaiser, Sr.; Edgar Kaiser and the well-known commentator, Walter Winchell, who gave talks to the assembled audience. Plans for the coming year were presented in which the officials and dealers are striving to attain top place in the sales of new cars in the United States. At present, the corporation ranks in seventh place, an unequaled record for a concern celebrating just two years in the automotive business, selling 300,-000 cars in less than this time.
The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the new model cars when a Hollywood movie actress presented a convertible model in a pleasing and unique manner. Faint rumbling noises grew louder and louder, intermingled with various colors flashing against steam, until a thunderous noise was subsided as huge fans blew the steam away and on a revolving platform the beautiful new car came into view, slowly turning as though a live model were fashioning the latest creation in style for an admiring audience.
The entire assembly of guests were then taken to the Long Beach Rifle range where they were served a delicious barbecue dinner and there were privileged to see the complete line of 1949 Kaiser Deluxe Specials, in multicolored selections and the Fraser Manhattan, a new model.
Before leaving for home, the dealers went to the Long Beach factory where they were privileged to drive home one new model of the Kaiser for display in their showrooms, and which the H and K Motor Sales are proudly presenting to the public.

Wiser announced that many prominent men and women already have accepted invitations to address the Sacramento convention. Among these are:
Mrs. Raymond Sayre, of Iowa, president of the Associated County Women of the World; Edward A. Put highly nutritious and satisfying sandwiches into the school lunch box. Meat and fish, cheese, eggs, and peanut butter are all fine basic fillings, and the enriched bread supplies energy, important B-vitamins, and iron. A favorite "scholar's sandwich" is ham and cheese in a bun, or a liverwurst and tomato combination. Sardine, egg salad, and cream cheese and jelly sandwiches are others which can be prepared often. Occasionally, for variety, include a baked bean sandwich seasoned with chilli sauce and thinly sliced onion.

Gives Tips on Saving Values Of Manures
Tips on preserving the values of chicken and rabbit manures were given this week by H. W. Longfellow, assistant farm advisor.
Spreading the manure on the soil as soon as it is acquired is the surest way, he says. The next best plan is to dry the manure quickly, for dry manure decomposes but little.
If manure must be stored moist, the water content should be increased to the point where heating will not take place, but it should not be so wet that liquid drains from the pile. Peat moss, straw litter, or waste hay absorbs moisture and retards loss of nitrogen. Powdered gypsum or acid phosphate added at the rate of two to ten per cent by weight acts as an effective preservative of nitrogen. Under no circumstances should lime or ashes be used.
The fly menace can be reduced by covering the manure with dry earth while it is being held. It may be stored in screened sheds away from flies and the screens painted with DDT to kill the flies that are attracted.
