SOCIAL AND CLUB ACTIVITIES OF THE WEEK (Continued from Page 3) Hart, wore taffeta gowns in pink, orchid and blue, respectively. They had matching picture hats and gloves and carried bouquets of pink carnations surrounded by blue delphinium. Flower girl was Patricia McAfee who wore a white frock. Tommy McAfee was ringbearer. Best man was the bridegroom's brother, John Dunton. Ushers were another brother of the bridegroom, Vernon Dunton, and Richard Igou, brother of the bride. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the Capilla garden with Mrs. Igou choosing a pink gabardine suit and corsage of blue delphinium, and Mrs. Dunton wearing a blue suit and a pink carnation corsage. For travelling, the new Mrs. Dunton wore a gray gabardine dress with black accessories and the orchids from her bridal bouquet. The bridegroom is a graduate of Anaheim high school. His bride attended high school in Santa Ana. Set Fullerton Concert Series 'Kick-Off' Dinner To launch the annual membership drive for the Fullerton Community Concert series, a "kick-off" dinner will be held October 4, at 6:30 o'clock in the evening in the dining hall of the Fullerton Masonic Temple, Mrs. J. J. Alexander, president of the association, announced. The drive for special musical programs to feature at least five artists will be October 5 to 9 in honor, leader, and Mrs. Walter Rommell, assistant leader, in charge of arrangements. The afternoon meetings will be at 1:30 o'clock. Home and Garden section members will meet October 11, beginning with a 1:30 o'clock dessert and social period. A demonstration on the fundamentals of corsage making will be given by Carmen Lizarraga, owner of Carmen's Flower Shop. Mrs. A. M. Cranston is the leader and Mrs. Floyd Peterson, assistant leader. The Bible section will meet at 2 o'clock October 11, with Mrs. Leo Friis, program chairman, presenting the speaker, Dr. H. A. Johnston who will discuss "Life of Paul Before His Conversion." Mrs. H. A. Johnston is leader of the group and Mrs. Juanita Ross, assistant leader. Ebell speakers will attend the Toastmasters section October 20, at 7:30 o'clock, with Mrs. O. S. Floan, leader, and Mrs. Harry Horn in charge of the business session. Mrs. A. L. Raymond is scheduled to discuss "Resume of Speech Principles." She will be introduced by Mrs. L. M. Pickel, program chairman. Five minute talks will be on the subject, "One Highlight of My Vacation." A book review of "Proud Westing" will be given by Mrs. H. H. Benjamin during the 2 o'clock Book Section meeting October 25, with Mrs. Harry Saulsbery, leader, and Mrs. Claude E. Slack, assistant leader, in charge of arrangements. A tea hour will follow the program. Andy Russell to Sing at Harmon Park Ballroom Andy Russell, young music recording star, will be featured vocalist at Harmon Ballroom, Highway 101 away in this city, next week. Teachers will receive institute credit for attending the programs, it was disclosed. Anyone wishing to make dinner reservations for the "kick-off" banquet may do so by calling Mrs. Alexander or Mrs. Florence Newkirk and Mrs. Siemeon Toelle, both of this city. Last year a total of 150 Anaheim citizens had season membership cards, constituting the largest number in this area. Other concerts sponsored by the Columbia organization of New York City, will be held in Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Santa Ana, Excelsior high school, Monrovia, Azusa and Corona. Providing there is ample seating space, out-of-town concert tickets will be honored in all these cities. The Fullerton concerts again will be held in the high school auditorium. At Assistance League Meeting Mrs. Sam Kraemer of Anaheim was elected recording-secretary of the county executive committee of the Orange County Assistance League which met last week in the Corona del Mar home of the chairman-founder, Mrs. James Irvine. New chairman of the Anaheim chapter is Mrs. Fred Weisel, who was introduced. Mrs. Lloyd Chenoweth of Santa Ana, executive vice-chairman, conducted the business session, following the luncheon, when plans were formulated for the annual meeting of the National Assistance League to be held at the Santa Ana Country club, Friday, October 22. The executive session was the first fall meeting of the county group. The Orange county members will be hostesses at the program chairman. Relief Corps Greet State Inspector Mrs. Sylvia DeLongfield, Santa Monica, state inspector for the Women's Relief Corps, was greeted by members of the local Corps on Tuesday when she made her official visit in this city. The meeting was held at the IOOF hall on West Center street. The guest made her official inspection of fraternal work and the procedure of business of the Corps. At the conclusion of the business, she sang the Relief Corps song. The reports of the various committees were as follows: child welfare, $2; relief, $15; 129 cards sent to sick and shut-ins; 24 sick calls made; 12 bouquets sent; 5 funeral sprays; five pounds salvage fat turned in; 75 pounds magazines collected. Announcement was made for the next meeting of the social club which will be a pot-luck luncheon at the park on Sept. 29. Members of the Corps conducted interment rites at Fairhaven Mausoleum Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Emelia Tessner, a deceased member. Conservatory of Music to Have Famed Instructor Coming as a signal honor to Anaheim and the Anaheim Conservatory of Music on West Center street, Mrs. Anna Siegel has announced that Maestro William Tyroler will conduct singing classes at the studio each Saturday, beginning October 2. Coming to the United States in 1909, Maestro Tyroler worked with the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York as a director of singing and orchestra, resigning that position in 1920 and establishing a School for Opera and Mrs. Lloyd Chenoweth of Santa Ana, executive vice-chairman, conducted the business session following the luncheon, when plans were formulated for the annual meeting of the National Assistance League to be held at the Santa Ana Country club, Friday, October 22. Mrs. Marguerite Murphy, member of the Los Angeles League executive board, now a resident of Balboa Island, was a special guest. Discussion of a philanthropic project for the year and ways and means of raising funds to support it will take place at the next meeting of the county group October 15 in Mrs. Irvine's home, it was announced. Schedule Ebell Club Meetings Luncheon reservations for the first fall meeting of the senior Ebell club to be held beginning at 12:30 o'clock Monday, October 4, are due the preceeding Saturday noon, it was announced. Talks will be given on this occasion by Mrs. C. A. Neighbors and Mrs. W. J. McLauchlin. "World Affairs and Books" will be the topic of Florence Lee Ohlsen, speaker for the 2 o'clock afternoon program. Treasured as keepsakes, Maestro Tyroler has letters from Causso and Schumann-Heink, commending him for his excellence in accompanying and coaching. The two artists have never been equalized in their excellence of performance and artistry.
