Frances Ruth-Robert Merriman
Wed in Bethel Baptist Church
Lovely in a satin gown distinctive with hoop skirts, two tiered veil and accents of hand fashioned white satin roses, Miss Frances Ruth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Domries, Route 2, 9741 Lincoln road, Anaheim, was united in marriage to Robert L. Merriman, son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Merriman, 511 South Resh street, Anaheim, Friday night at 8 o'clock in the sanctuary of the Bethel Baptist church of this city with the Rev. P. G. Neumann officiating for the single-ring formal ceremony.
The young couple plighted their troth before an all-white altar arranged with white gladioli, potted palms, and lighted cathedral candelabra.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride carried cymbidium orchids blended with a shower of stephenotis, bouvardia and satin streamers, the bouquet resting on a white Bible. Her full-length and finger-tip length two-tiered veil of illusion net cascaded from a crown of white satin roses.
All the bride's attendants were attired in white satin water-print seersucker organdie gowns worn with white net elbow length gloves. They carried arm bouquets of red gladioli. Mrs. John Murdock was the matron of honor.
The bride's maids included Miss Phoebe Merriman, sister of the bridegroom; Mrs. James Ruth, Jr., sister-in-law of the bride; Miss Marion Davies and Miss Jerry Schauer, the latter a cousin of the bride.
the Singer Sewing Center, Anaheim.
Her bridegroom, an alumnus of Anaheim high school, is with the interdepartmental transportation division of Essex Wire Corporation of California at Anaheim.
Pre-nuptial courtesies extended to the bride included three miscellaneous showers. June 6, Mrs. R. T. Schauer of Garden Grove was hostess to an affair; June 16, the George Partridge home on East Broadway was the scene of a shower with Mrs. Partridge and Mrs. Frank Hutain, co-hostesses, and July 7, an affair was given by Mrs. James Ruth, Jr., of Anaheim.

Will Present 'Life with Father'
"Life With Father" will be presented next Monday through Saturday by Holiday Stage, at the Tustin high school auditorium.
Co-starred in this modern classic of American family life in the 1880's, in the popular comedy "first west coast performance," are Mary Finney and Donald Curtis.
Curtis, who will portray "Father," recently appeared in Columbia's "The Fuller Brush Man" and currently is headlined in Holiday Stage's "The Spider," novel vaudeville and 'whodunit' show.
years in the U.S. Navy and attended Anaheim Union high school.
Tuesday evening, the newlywed were the honored guests at a pre-nuptial shower given by Mary O'Kane and Daisey Vuksanovic in the O'Kane home at 208 North Helena street.
Wearing a frock similar to the bride's gown and white mitts, was the flower girl, Cecelia Attie Ruth, half-sister of the bride. A red rose halo graced her hair. Candle-lighter was Miss Wanda Allen.
Serving as best man was Marvin Rapp, the bridegroom's cousin, who traveled from his home in Artesian, South Dakota, accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Arthur Rapp, to participate in the ceremony. Ushers included Gene Hall, Ted Fischback, Warren Cox and James Ruth, Jr., the bride's brother.
Alvin Graver, pre-nuptial soloist, sang "Because," "Love Abide" and "Since God Gave Me You," accompanied by Esther Leuschner, organist of the Baptist church, who also played the traditional wedding marches.
Immediately following the ceremony, the reception was held in the church social hall. Mrs. Domries, the bride's mother, chose a floor length dinner gown of aqua accented with a corsage of clear yellow Souvenir roses. The groom's mother, Mrs. Merriman, was attired in a deep rose floor length dinner gown worn with matching gloves and a contrasting bolero of navy. Her corsage was of rich yellow Talisman roses.
White tapers in crystal sticks flanked the five tiered cake on the reception table. White gladioli were arranged throughout the large hall. The cake was topped with a miniature bridal couple and surrounded by white roses. Mrs. T. R. Schauer was in charge of the reception duties. Mrs. Leonard Eggert, cousin of the new Mrs. Merriman, cut and served the cake assisted by Mrs. Warren Cox. Presiding at the punch bowl was Miss Evelyn Davies. Miss Lois Baert was in charge of the guest book.
The bride designed her own gown and those of her attendants and were created by her and her mother for the impressive ceremony.
The newlywed left for a two-week stay at the Luther League of the Grace Lutheran church, Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Mohn on South West street.
Auctioneers for the box social dinners were Conrad Mauerhan, guest of Dan Mauerhan, and Pearl Mohn. All proceeds from the affair went to swell the fund for a vibrante for the church organ.
Prize for the prettiest box was awarded to Jerry Gibson. For the cleverest box, the prize went to Connie Benson. Art Michael won the door prize.
Two large bouquets of gladioli decorated the main serving table. Stars and small bouquets on each table carried out the pink and lavender color scheme.
