According to the new retirement bill recently passed it is now possible for members of the National Guard and Reserve components of the service to earn retirement pay based upon the amount of work they perform in the civilian components. The bill goes into great detail and is much too lengthy to reproduce in this column, suffice to say that it is possible for an individual to retire at age 60 with up to seventy-five per cent of the base pay of the grade he is holding in reserve either permanent or temporary. Full text of the bill is on file at the Recruiting Office and interested parties are invited to come in and look it over. This is really an opportunity that's every bit as good as an annuity insurance policy and one that no veteran can afford to pass up. You would have to look a long time to find a field that offers more opportunities to a young man than aviation.
