CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
The Golden Text of the Sunday Lesson - Sermon on "God" in all branches of The Mother Church.
The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, is from Exodus: "I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
In his Sermon on the Mount, as recorded by Matthew, Jesus counsels, "When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly... Use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them; for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him."
The American Legion’s 16th annual Los Angeles Coliseum Fireworks Show July 4 and 5, the largest of its kind in the world, will get off to a booming start this year with Lt. Gov. Goodwin J.
