Social and Club Activities GRACE THOMPSON Phone 2206 Clemence Baeyens-George Lerno Wed in Formal Church Ceremony Lovely in a traditional gown of white satin, Miss Clemence Baeyens, daughter of Mrs. Virginia Baeyens, 901-B East Broadway, Anaheim, became the bride of George Lerno, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lerno, 14222 Graham street, Westminster, in the quiet sanctuary of St. Boniface Catholic church, this city, Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock, with Father Henry Gross of that church, reciting the nuptial mass for the double-ring formal ceremony. The young couple repeated their marriage vows before an all-white altar arranged with white gladioli and stock against a background of ferns and potted palms. Given in marriage by Joe De Sadeleer, her uncle, the bride carried a bouquet of gardenias, carnations and stephanotis. Her gown was fashioned with a high neckline, fitted bodice, full skirt and long train and a fingertip veil that cascaded from a tiera of beaded pearls. Traditional sentiment was found in three strands of pearls borrowed from the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Goubert, a bit of blue and a lucky six pence in her shoe. Maid of honor was Mary Baeyens, sister of the bride, who chose an ocean-blue gown fashioned with an off-the-shoulder neckline and bustle accent. The bride's maids, wearing shell-pink gowns of identical design, were Madelene Beeckman, cousin of the bride, and Rosalie Jean Truxaw, Luverne Hays Engagement Told A sparkling diamond, third finger, left hand, revealed the engagement of Miss Jean Truxaw, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Truxaw. The betrothal of Miss Truxaw to Luverne Frederick Hays, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hays, also of this city, was announced formally at a Sunday tea given in the Truxaw home on South Los Angeles street. Two small hearts, one inscribed with the names and the other with the wedding date, decorated with golden wedding bells, were viewed by many friends and relatives of the two families. The mothers of the engaged couple received guests. Presiding at the tea table during the afternoon were Mrs. Hays, Miss Joyce Ann Hays, sister of the bride-groom-elect, assisted by Mrs. WilVirginia Osborn, Robert Siewert Wed at Capilla Gowned in heavy brocade sat on Miss Virginia Louise Osborn daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.
