CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
"Are Sin, Disease, and Death Hard? This question will be the subject of the Sunday Lesson-Sermon in branches of The Mother Church First Church of Christ, Scientific Boston. The Golden Text is Isaiah; 'Israel shall be saved by Lord with an everlasting salvation.' In his Sermon on the Mount, recorded by Matthew, Jesus says, ware of false prophets, which can you in sheep's clothing... Yet know them by their fruits. Do gather grapes of thorns, or flies thistles?... A good tree cannot forth evil fruit; neither can a tree bring forth good fruit... ... the people were astonished to doctrine; For he taught them after having authority, and not as scribes." Luke's Gospel reports, when the sun was setting, all that had any sick with divers discharged them unto him; and had his hands on every one of them healed them."
In "Science and Health with to the Scriptures" Mary Baker writes, "Jesus strips all disguise error, when his teachings are understood. By parable and argument he explains the impossibility of producing evil; and he also infinitely demonstrates this great proving by what are wrongly miracles, that sin, sickness, and are beliefs—illusive errors—which could and did destroy."
