Lions to Hear Postal Address Development in and the history of the Anaheim postal department will be explained by Louis Hoskins, local postmaster, to members of the Lions club, tomorrow (Friday) noon during the luncheon meeting at the Elks club. Hoskins will give a resume of present day activities and introduce various members of the department who will be the club's guests for the occasion. Last Friday's speaker was James W. Bashears, member of the Garden Grove Lions club, who gave highlights of his career in the Army. Associated with the Special Service Division of the Intelligence Corps, he served for the most part, as an instructor, training men for internal destruction work within enemy lines. Both physically and mentally, exceptionally strong men were required for the program since most trainees lost as much as 30 to 40 pounds during the instruction period, the speaker said. This division was sure to make any graduate a man, he said. Miss Patricia Coffin, zone speech contest winner in the annual competition sponsored by Lions International, will participate in the zone finals April 15, at the Santa Ana Masonic Temple where she will vie with the southern Orange county winner, it was announced. Special guest of honor was C. D. Wright, member of the board of directors association from Midwest City, Oklahoma. Other visitors included Jim Linton, Garden Grove contractor; Tom Clark, past president of the Orange Den, a contractor, and Bob Wheeler, real estate man and past president of the Orange group. Wright discussed briefly the progress made by his Oklahoma club which completed the chartering of 42 members within three days. Now boasting more than 200 members, the club was organized in a town mainly war built. Anaheim secretary Vic La Mont presented a resume of club business at the directors meeting at Glen Hipes home recently. He also announced the Tustin charter night, to be held this evening (Thursday). VIVIAN ELAINE DUNKIN Mr. and Mrs. George A. Dunkin, who moved into their new Freeway track home Saturday, became the proud parents of their first child, Vivian Elaine, Sunday morning at 1:24 o'clock, at Fullerton General hospital. The tiny miss tipped the scales at exactly seven pounds. Dunkin, a navy veteran, is pressman at the Anaheim Gazette. Toastmasters' Speak-Off Set Rev. Leslie Sim will represent the Anaheim Toastmasters club at the area speak-off of the five clubs in the Founder's Area No. 1, to be held April 8, at the Santa Ana Community club house, local president Aubrey Van Verst announced during the regular dinner-session Monday evening at La Palma Grill.
