Jeanne Wilson, Russell Cariker Engagement Told
During a recent surprise-announcement party, news of the engagement of Miss Jeanne Wilson of Anaheim to Russell Warren Cariker of Fullerton was disclosed at the Wilson home on North Lemon street.
Each guest was presented with a gardenia corsage when she was greeted at the door by the hostess. Miss Wilson chose a gray crepe gown for the occasion. A spray of baby chrysanthemums was worn in her hair.
Special announcement games were played with prizes going to Elaine Steinborn Horton and Miss Doris Hilton.
A phonograph recording featuring the voice of Frank Sinatra, the announcement of the engagement and the dedication of the selection to "Jeanne and Russ" was heard by the group.
Adding to the occasion were huge arrangements of white chrysanthemums, one bouquet being on the coffee table, one on the piano and another centered between two lighted tapers on the mantle.
A cake, shaped in the form of two interlocked hearts inscribed with "Jeanne and Russ", was complemented by the white lace cloth on the buffet table in the dining room. Six tall white tapers, in crystal holders, cast a soft glow over the setting. A cluster of gardenias surrounded the base of each candle stick.
Individual ices, in the form of pink hearts topped with cupids and white wedding bells, were enjoyed.
Cutting and serving the cake was Mrs. Robert L. Wilson, sister-in-law of the hostess. Mrs. Jack Winger and Miss Lou Wurstroff.
