FJC Adult Night School Classes To Begin Sept. 22
The adult night school class schedule was announced by Fullerton Junior college this week, to begin September 22. Pre-registration will begin Wednesday of next week and will continue Thursday and Friday from 1:30 to 4:30 o'clock and from 7 to 9 o'clock each afternoon and evening in the office of adult education on the Fullerton high school campus.
College and high school credits may be obtained from the majority of subjects, provided those enrolled fulfill standard requirements. Additional information may be obtained by calling Fullerton 1783.
Council Urges Early Action On Sewer Plan

The council authorized subr sion of a new contract to the S ramento baseball club for the spring training period, calling a 10 per cent participation by city in gate receipts during season.

Noble M. Parker Death Friday
Noble M. Parker, 81 years of age, passed away at the family home at 601 South Birch street, Santa Ana, on Friday, Sept. 5. Born in Decatur, Illinois he had been a resident of California since 1925.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Holly Markle of Anaheim, and Mrs. Milton Myers of Santa Ana; and two grandsons, Milton A. Myers Jr., of Burbank, and H. Parker Markle of Anaheim.
Private funeral services were conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the chapel of Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars mortuary with the Rev. Howard S. Congdon, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Interment was in Anaheim Mausoleum.

Orange Opens 2-Day Festival Tomorrow P.M.
A mammoth parade features colorful southern California buildings and musical groups... a ball contest between champions contenders... an old fashion barbecue... a bathing beauty contest... an outstanding vaudeville show.
These are among the events expected to attract record crowds; the Orange (Calif.) Harvest Festival scheduled to open for a day run tomorrow.

Additional conveniences for customers of the newly re-built spacious Spanish Kitchen, 145 South Los Angeles street, is the free parking lot at the Richfield station across the street. The air conditioned interior of the Latin-American restaurant, which features a mezzanine banquet room with a seating capacity of 25, was filled with the scent of flowers as Mr. and Mrs. Carl Reeske, owners and managers, welcomed citizens to the grand opening on Thursday: A profusion of potted plants and artistic floral arrangements sent with congratulations from business concerns and city organizations, filled the establishment. With the four other stores adjoining, it was razed by fire a year ago. Clee Clark was heard from 6 to 12 o'clock Thursday at the console of a Hammond electric organ.

Mrs. Nora Harkins and her daughter, Catherine Wilson, of East Center street, were hostess to Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Nipper Tuesday evening, the occasion being the birthday anniversary Mr. Nipper.

Mrs. Hattie Vogel, Cypress Visitor, Passes Tuesday
Mrs. Hattie Vogel of El Centro, a visitor in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kaufman of Cypress, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from injuries sustained on the fourth of July in a car crash in which Doris Kaufman was fatally injured. Born in Switzerland 42 years ago, the deceased had resided in El Centro for the past 17 years.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Frank Vogel of the home; two sons, Frank Vogel, Jr., and Hans Vogel.
Rosary will be held Friday evening, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars mortuary with Mass Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery.
A baby daughter was welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Joe W. Britsch of Route 4, Box 354-A, Anaheim, Tuesday in the Santa Ana Community hospital. She weighed seven pounds, 15 ounces.
Increase of 20% In Fees for Auto Registration
Thomas H. Kuchel, state controller, this week apportioned to the counties of California a total of $5,648,099 of motor vehicle registration and weight fees. Of this total Orange county was apportioned $131,884.45.
Distribution was made on the basis of the number of fee-paid vehicles registered in each county in proportion to the total of such registrations in the state.
The apportionment represents 31% percent of the $17,789,289 in registration and weight fees deposited in the state treasury during the period January 1, 1947, through June 30, 1947. The total fees deposited during this period showed an increase of 20 percent over the corresponding period of one year ago. The total revenues from this source for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1947, amounted to $19,559,050, an all-time high, and an increase of $3,424,459 over the preceding fiscal year.
