Letty Jo Zimmer-Lewis Pope
Wed in Chapel Ceremony Sunday
In an informal ceremony Miss Letty Jo Zimmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest F. Zimmer of 10152 Brookhurst road, Anaheim, became the bride of Lewis Pope, son of Mrs. Anna Pope of 221 South Flower street, Brea, Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock in the Broadway wedding chapel, with Dr. Robert Burns McAulay, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Orange, reading the double-ring ceremony.
The young couple repeated their marriage vows before an altar arranged with white flowers and lighted cathedral candelabra, flanked by two tall standing baskets filled with gladioli, larkspur, Easter lilies and white spider chrysanthemums.
The bride was lovely in a white wool gabardine suit worn with a pink blouse trimmed in matching lace. Her accessories were patent leather and her pink hat was trimmed in white, violet and fuchsia.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride carried a nosegay of pink bouvardia, pink roses and violet carnations. Only attendant was her twin sister, Mrs. Gordon N. Swoffer, Jr. She was attired in a toast brown suit worn with yellow accessories. Her corsage was of tallman roses.
Serving as best man was Bob Pope, brother of the bridegroom.
Preceding the ceremony Grace Curtis, nuptial soloist, sang "Because" and "All Through the Years" accompanied by Mrs. Lea Pemberton, at the console of the weds left for a ten-day honeymoon trip of undisclosed destination. Upon their return they will reside at 501 West Whiting street, Fullerton.
The bride is a graduate of Anaheim Union high school and an alumnus of Fullerton Junior college where she was a member of Theta Nu Theta sorority.
Her bridegroom is a graduate of Brea Olinda high school.
Los Miguelitos' Benefit Carnival This Saturday
A benefit carnival will be presented by Los Miguelitos, young adult group of St. Michael's Episcopal church, next Saturday evening beginning at 6:30 o'clock in the parish hall, Emily and Adele streets. Purpose of the event will be to raise funds to retire the parish hall debt.
Following an old-time theme, the affair will begin with a box social supper. Those attending will give a small donation in exchange for a delectable box lunch.

Hostess to a breakfast home chairmen of the Orange County Federation of Women's clubs; Mrs. A. E. Schumacher, last day morning at 10 o'clock in Wood Country club.
Ideas for promoting friendly club welfare and federation grease were the purposes of the fair. Several past presidents of organization presented ideas furthering federation action and answered questions of members attending.
Those present from Anzio included Mrs. Al Raymond, American citizenship chairman; Mrs. A. Neighbors, cancer chair; Mrs. E. E. Smith, legislation chair; Mrs. D. Jerry Younggerature chairman; Mrs. G. Greder, garden chairman; John Wilson, amenity chair; and Mrs. L. E. Wilson.
Past presidents at the break included Mrs. Albert Launer, E. E. Smith, Mrs. Alfred Hall, Mrs. George Wheat and Mrs. in Day. District chairmen pre-were Mrs. R. G. Carmen, Harold Jobes, Mrs. D. J. Yoo and Mrs. Arthur S. Sipherd.

For the occasion, the bride's mother, Mrs. Zimmer, chose a gray suit and blue accessories. A corsage of pink carnations was worn in her lapel. Mother of the groom, Mrs. Pope, wore a dark green suit and black accessories. Her corsage was of white carnations.
Approximately 25 immediate family relatives and very close friends gathered for a wedding supper in Cary's restaurant in Santa Ana, immediately following the ceremony.

Two silent motion pictures, "The Great Train Robbery" and a Fatty Arbuckle comedy will be featured after the dinner at 8 o'clock.
Los Miguelitos youths will be appropriately costumed in levis, plaid shirts and straw hats, while the girls will be attired in gay cotton print skirts and peasant blouses.
A special afternoon feature, designed for church school members, will be a 2:30 o'clock motion picture show featuring the two old-time films plus Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck cartoons.
Gala finale to the evening carnival will be square and modern dancing and an array of booths featuring games and refreshments.
Corinne Deverall is general chairman of the carnival, Betty Dodge, chairman of the food committee and LeRoy Harvil managing the projection machine. Members serving on other committees, include Margaret Garrett, Kathleen Austin, Betty Riemer, Wanda Chambers and Lia Bertrand.
In charge of the booths and games are Alex Deverall, Dan Dodge, Tom Harrison, Paul Harrison and Robert Long. Miss Adah Louise Wilcox will call the square dances. Music for the occasion will be interpreted by Mrs. Leonard Diagle, pianist, and Ernest Zitzmann, violinist.
Last April Los Miguelitos sponsored a dinner to raise funds to swell the parish hall improvement fund which provided for the enlargement of the building to accommodate the rapidly growing church school. At that time the late Bishop Stevens was the guest speaker. Entire proceeds of the current affair will be given to the church for the same cause.
Reservations may be made by calling Rev. John Kimball Saville, rector, Anaheim 4654, or with any member of the young peoples' group. Persons wishing to attend the later portion of the program may obtain tickets at the door Saturday night.

Mrs. Virginia L. Carpenter Yorba Linda is county chair of the craft groups. Others present at the joint meeting include Mrs. Blanche Bogg and Mrs. H Kaplan of Los Angeles, instructors, and representatives from clubs throughout Orange county.
Craft work exhibited include hammered copper, leather w plastics, basket weaving and sew work. These crafts and others can be studied by the group.
SENN FAMILY RETURNS FROM CHICAGO TRIP
Rudolph Senn and family 015 North Clementine street turned here recently after a week vacation in Chicago, nois where he had been a baker for 32 years previous to move to California eight years ago. Enjoyed reunions with my friends in the "Windy City." native of Switzerland, Senn grew up in bakery business, and been associated with establishments in Long Beach and Aheim as well as Chicago. Have Reunion After 40 Years
Mrs. Ben Ter Beest of South West street, enjoyed her first reunion in 40 years with her aunt, Mrs. Anna Belanger, of Chicago, Illinois, recently during a month's vacation trip. She was accompanied by her daughter, Joan, who will begin her studies in Santa Ana Business College on Monday.
The couple returned to this city Sunday afternoon after spending five days visiting and sight seeing in Chicago, where they attended the American Broadcast program, "Welcome Stranger."
In Hoopeston and Milford, Illinois, they also visited a number of relatives and friends.
Traveling via Greyhound bus, they went on the northern route through Boys' Town and Salt Lake City, Utah, and returned by way of the southern route where they saw effects of drought on corn and other crops in Kansas and New Mexico.
Making a bid for California weather, Mrs. Ter Beest described the torrid temperatures prevalent in the "Windy City" and other areas covered en route.
Obtaining a marriage license were John Grigg and Mildred Blanche Studnicka, both of Anaheim, at the county court house in Santa Ana, Monday.

Summer conference reports will be presented during the board meeting of the Orange County Federation of Women's clubs Friday noon in the Community Methodist church of Seal Beach. Mrs. August E. Schumacher, president of the federation, will preside during the business session following the luncheon.
CELEBRATE SILVER WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Celebrating their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth F. Snyder of 218 East Broadway. The couple received many cards and rememberances from close friends. He is associated with the Anaheim branch of the United States post office.
CARSON-LEHNHARDT ENGAGEMENT TOLD
The engagement of Miss Donna Jean Carson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carson of Anaheim, to James F. Lenhardt, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lenhardt of Garden Grove, was announced this week. Wedding bells will ring for the young couple September 25.

Touring the coast of Ensenada, Mexico, both afoot and via automobile was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Vic La Mont, Jr., of 226 West Chartres street, Sunday and Monday. "Lots of people" was their main comment upon the trip. When returning "north of the border" the couple viewed the sights at San Diego's famed zoo.

Home Makers To Discuss Fall Dress Restyling
The Home Departments and Homemakers Groups of Orange county will meet on their regular meeting dates during September to discuss "Restyling Clothing for Fall."
The women will bring clothing to the meetings and will share ideas for bringing it up to date by means of correct shoulder pads, remade belts and buckles, etc. Special emphasis will be placed on methods of lengthening dresses and slips. The use of a clap board will be demonstrated to remove the original hem mark from woolens and rayon dresses. An easy and quick method of lengthening cotton dresses and children's clothing by machine will be demonstrated. Several satisfactory and easy methods of lengthening slips will be explained.
A basic black dress will be shown with many accessory changes to make it appear fresh and new, to make it seem dressy or casual.
The first of a series of 10 minute discussions on the subject of "Living Together as a Family" will be introduced by the Family Relations chairman in each center.

Stars in Hynes Skating Festival
Lloyd Allen Marshall of Anaheim and Sally Brown and Wyonne Evans of Santa Ana, were Orange county members of the ice figure skating cast featured in the sixth annual "Ice Fantasies of 1947," last Saturday and Sunday night at 8 o'clock in Iceland skating rink, Hynes.
An outstanding young skater, Marshall placed third in the southern California inter-club competition last year. In the fantasy production, he starred in the lead role.
All three participants of this vicinity are members of the Arctic Blades Figure Skating club of southern California, an affiliate of the National Figure Skating association.
OHIO WESLEYAN MONNET CLUB GARDEN PARTY

ENJOYED VARIED MONTH'S TOUR
Everything from Washington bears, Illinois Indian rituals, family reunions and sights of the Ozarks highlighted the month's vacation trip enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Charles "Dutch" Heinrich of 209 East Broadway. They returned to this city Sunday, tanned and rested. First the couple viewed forests of Everett, Washington; then they went to Montana and on to Davenport, Iowa, where they were the guests of her brother, Harry Nickles. The Heinrichs witnessed the annual reunion of several Indian tribes in Rock Island, Illinois, whose ceremonies featured war dances. On the return trip they traveled through the Ozark mountains.
