CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
The Golden Text of the Sunday Lesson-Sermon on "Spirit" in all brachches of the Mother Church,
the First Church of Christ, Scientist,
in Boston, is from Zechariah, and reads, "This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by by might nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts."
In The Acts it is recited that "there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, ... who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked." And in the Psalms this promise of God's help is given, "Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me."
Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures:" "When we come to have more faith in the truth of being than we have in error, more faith in Spirit than in matter, more faith in living than in dying, more faith in God than in man, then no material suppositions can prevent us from healing the sick and destroying error."
