A completed length of pipe fabricated in the Consolidated Steel Corporation plant in Maywood is shown arriving on the right-of-way of the California portion of the Texas-California natural gas pipeline from Blythe to Santa Fe Springs. The line, the California portion of which is being built by Southern California and Southern Counties Gas Companies, will make natural gas from Texas fields available for use in Southern California. Six lengths of the 30-inch king-size pipe, each section 60 feet long and weighing around three tons, are transported on trucks from Los Angeles. FLOOR FOR SUGAR PROCESSORS, 1947 CROP Growers of 1947 sugar beet crop in California, under the new completed agreement with USDA, will receive the $10 per ton minimum price for average-quality beets announced under terms of the Sugar of 1937.
