CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
"It is the spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is Truth."
This statement from John's first epistle will be the Golden Text of the Sunday Lesson - Sermon on "Truth" in all branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston.
The Lesson-Sermon includes this Bible citation from the Psalms:
"Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God; Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is; which keepeth truth forever; The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind; the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down; the Lord loveth the righteous; The Lord preserveth the strangers he relieveth the fatherless and widow; but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Pralse ye the Lord."
In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says, "The question, What is Truth, is answered by demonstration,—by healing both disease and sin; and this demonstration shows that Christian healing confers the most health and makes the best men." "Truth makes a new creature, in whom old things pass away and 'all things become new'."
