Mrs. Oppenheim
On Ebell Yule
Program Monday
Dramatic interpretations presented by Mrs. Veronica Oppenheim, wife of the well-known author, Rudolph Oppenheim, singing of the Mozart Girls choir, directed by Miss Ruth Swanson combined with an atmosphere of old-time Christmas hospitality made the yule party of the Anaheim Ebell club Monday afternoon one to be long remembered. Holly and boughs of evergreen bedecked the walls throughout the club-house carrying out the holiday theme.
Guests were greeted by Mrs. Harry W. Saulsbery and the board members at the door. Centering the tea table was a tiny Christmas tree aglow with miniature lights.
Opening the program the Mozart Girls interpreted "O Holy Night, Silent Night," "Beautiful Savior," "Slumber of Infant Jesus" arranged for trio, and finally "Hallelujah" from Handel's "The Messiah."
Humorous interpretations by the versatile Mrs. Oppenheim were sharply contrasted with her concluding reading from "The Jericho Road," a modern version of the story of "The Good Samaritan."
