to the growers. Early shipments have contained sizes 220 and smaller. Pickers were retarded somewhat because of the heavy rains during the past week but, with favorable weather following the storm, shipments reaching markets in time for the holiday season are expected to peak the popular 176s and 220s.
Arizona has produced a few light shipments of navels, along with Central-Northern California navels. It was reported that the Arizona fruit was distributed mostly in that state. Early navels were averaging about $2.00 per box higher than late season Valencias.

Increasing competition from now through the holiday season will be given California-Arizona citrus men in the way of Florida tangerines. Shipments of the fruit are becoming heavier by the day, with Florida anticipating shipping 250 cars of tangerines this week and 635 scheduled for shipment next week.
The lemon market opened higher this week on 360s and larger, but small fruit and less desirable quality are still meeting trade resistance. Increased interest was noted in many markets of the country where winter weather has upped the lemon demand because of colds and flu.
Unrestricted lemon movement was recommended by the Lemon Administrative committee because
