GRACE THOMPSON
TEASDALE-McKINLEY RITES MARKED BY BEAUTIFUL CHURCH SETTING
Lovely in her gown of white satin, Miss Lorraine K. Teasdale, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Teasdale of South Placentia avenue, became the bride of Ensign Robert Tracey McKinley, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. McKinley, 5831 Harold Way, Hollywood in semi-formal rites solemnized at the White Temple Methodist church last Friday evening at 8 o'clock, the Rev. Albert Heard, pastor of the First Baptist church of Santa Rosa, close friend of the young couple, reading the double-ring ceremony assisted by Rev. Hayden Swift Sears, pastor of the White Temple church.
The young couple repeated their marriage vows before an all-white altar flanked with three tall white baskets of gladioli and larkspur and potted palms, with cathedral candelabra casting a soft glow over the setting, witnessed by more than 125 immediate family relatives and close friends.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, carried a single white orchid on a white prayer book belonging to her mother. White tapers blended with satin bows marked the isleway.
Enhancing the bride’s brownette lovelliness was her fingertip veil of fragile net caught to two clusters of orange blossoms gracing her hair. It cascaded over her gown which she borrowed from a close sorority sister. Traditional sentiment was further found in a dainty hankerchief belonging to
The bride is a graduate of Anaheim Union high school land an alumni of Redlands where she received her Bachelor of Music degree and teaching credentials. She has been a staff member at Barstow Union high school for the last two years and is well known in this county for her active participation in piano and organ musicales.
Her bridegroom received his commission in the USN at Rice Institute, Houston, Texas. He has been in the service since 1940 and returned from overseas duty in 1944 when he enrolled at Redlands University.
Pre-nuptial courtesies included a kitchen shower presented July 8 by Myrtle Geissler and a bathroom shower given by Mrs. William Klausing and Mrs. Gerard Classen and Mrs. Geissler.

Teens With Girl Scouts, Brownies
Authentic outdoor camping almost “at home” is being enjoyed by many enthusiastic younger Girl Scouts and Brownie Scouts who are now participating in the panorama of varied activities offered at Camp Flicker in beautiful Irvine Park which opened last Tuesday, Wednesday and today and will meet again next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 o'clock in the morning until 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

Tells Engagement At Bridge Party
During a festive dessert-break party, the engagement of Miss Lois Boege, daughter of Dr. Mrs. John Boege of Brenton mansion this city, was revealed when Glenn Walters, feted the bride elect at her spacious home, West Malvern avenue, Fuller recently. The Boeges are now siding at their summer home 124 Turquoise avenue, Balboa land.
Miss Boege passed the tradition of chocolates following announcement of her betrothal Lieutenant Commander Edw C. Sockerson, son of Mrs. Frank Sockerson of Hawthorne, formerly of Anaheim.
Wedding date of the young people has not been disclosed, but scheduled for the near future. Comdr. Sockerson is now stationed at the line officers’ school Newport, Rhode Island, where wedding will take place.
Delectable refreshments of cream cake were enjoyed by guests in an atmosphere merry with scattered arrangements of spring flowers.

Enhancing the bride's brownette lovelliness was her fingertip veil of fragile net caught to two clusters of orange blossoms gracing her hair. It cascaded over her gown which she borrowed from a close sorority sister. Traditional sentiment was further found in a dainty hankerchief belonging to her mother, and exquisite pearls from her groom. Her gown was fashioned with a square lace yoke, long sleeves, fitted bodice and full skirt which ended in a long train.
Maid of honor was Miss Glenna Jean Deardorff, of Riverside, a Beta Lambda Mu sorority sister of the bride from Redlands University, wearing a gown of white mousselin de soie fashioned with sweetheart neckline, lace bodice and three-quarter length sleeves. She also wore a white Juliet cap with short veil and carried a large bouquet of pink gladioli.
Bridesmaids were Miss Myrtle Geissler of Anaheim and Miss Phyllis McKinley, sister of the groom. He wore white gowns of identical design with that of the maid of honor.
Serving as best man was Ensign Walter King of Alhambra (Maritime service). Ushers included Cadet Leon Allec of Anaheim and Kenneth Nichols of Beverly Hills.
Candle lighters were Margaret and Donald Garrett, brother and sister, gowned in choir robes.
Preledging the ceremony Wilbur Schwalter, master teacher of the bride at Redlands university sang "All Through the Years," "Because" and the "Lord's Prayer." He was accompanied by Mrs. Helen Fackiner of Torrence, who also played the traditional wedding marches at the console of the organ.
Guests greeted the newlyweds in the church hall following the ceremony with the bride's mother choosing for the occasion a formal blue toned gown. oMther of the groom wore a white gown. Both mothers wore corsages of pink carnations.

Convenient bus service is offered from the scout house, 210 South Citron, leaving at 9:15 o'clock each morning, returning at 3:30 o'clock each afternoon.
Efficient and experienced leaders are in charge of five units, each comprised of 15 girls who range from seven to 14 years of age. Girls of close age level will be in each unit.
Business manager of Camp Flicker is Mrs. Jerry Schiller, commissioner of Anaheim and Fullerton Girl Scouts. Mrs. George Kohlenberger is camp director, assisted by Miss Adah Louise Wilcox.
Unit leaders include Mrs. Hugh Nipp, assisted by Mrs. W. G. Head and Mrs. Honsard, unit No. 1; Mrs. H. Van Deldon, assisted by Mrs. L. H. Casey and Mrs. H. Beymesberger, unit No. 2; Mrs. R. M. Glover, assisted by Mrs. J. F. Rutzi and Mrs. Robert Bielch, unit No. 3; Mrs. M. F. Glenn, assisted by Mrs. Clyde Dawson and Mrs. William Bushman, unit No. 4; and Mrs. J. O. Mason, assisted by Mrs. Brennan and Mrs. N. Fiscuus, unit No. 5.
First aiders for the camp are Mrs. Charles Waters and Mrs. Louise Relnert.

Her bridgement-elect is also graduate of Anaheim Union High School and attended Fullerton Junior College. He is an alumni Washington State university where he was a Sigma Phi member.

CONE DAUGHTER INJURED IN FALL
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Co daughter Mary suffered a co pound fracture of the wrist last week when she fell from high diving board at the plunge.
She was taken to the children orthopedic hospital in Los Angeles for treatment.

In an atmosphere of candlelight and white spring flowers, the reception was presented in Wesley hall with more than 125 immediate family relatives and close friends gathered for the memorial affair. Delightfully appointed reception table was centered with the bridal cake and flanked with white daliahs and shast daisies. Arrangements of yellow and lavender daliahs, sorority colors, in the rear of the hall completed the decorative effect.
Presiding at the bride's table were Mrs. Glenn Butcher and Mrs. Frank Garrett, both of this city. Miss Margaret Garrett presided at the guest book. Others assisting with arrangements included Mrs. Otto Geissler, Mrs. William Klausing, both of Anaheim and Mrs. Allan Fowler, Miss Ida Marie McCourtney, Miss Ruby Lee McCourtney, all of Redlands, sorority sisters of the bride and Mrs. Margaret J. Buttree of this city, bride's assistant. They all appeared in beautiful formal gowns.
After cutting and sharing the first piece of their four tiered wedding cake topped with a tiny wedding bell and orange blossoms, the young couple left for a short honeyhoon at Briargate in Banning. She has returned to Anaheim and will make her temporary home here. Her bridegroom will report to Norfolk USN base for further orders. When he receives his orders she plans to join him.
For travelling the new Mrs. McKinley choose a smart gray wool suit with gray accessories accented by white gloves and the traditional bridal orchid.
The young couple, who became engaged a year ago, met at the University of Redlands.

The Boeges are now re-engaging at their summer home at "Turquoise avenue, Balboa Is."
Miss Boege passed the tradition of chocolates following the enchantment of her betrothal to tenant Commander Edward Buckerson, son of Mrs. Frances person of Hawthorne, both early of Anaheim.

Enjoying Week At Mountain Ranch
Brown and Reinhardt, sewing machine and electrical appliance distributors, 114 East Center street, closed their doors for a week, beginning last Monday, when co-owners Mrs. W. V. Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Reinhardt, her sister and brother-in-law, left for a vacation on the Reinhardt 360 acre ranch located 40 miles above Redding.
The beautiful ranch, which nestles between the Sacramento and McCloud rivers, on unexplored timber acreage formerly owned by the Southern Pacific Railroad company, was recently purchased by the Reinhardts.
Also enjoying the vacation of camping-out, fishing and exploration are Mrs. Brown's three sons, Tommy, Teddy and Ronnie, 1011 East Broadway, and her nephew, Kenneth Budd, Jr., who has been residing with the Reinhardts, 305 East Water street.
The group left for the ranch after attending the Richards-Martin dance pageant, in Los Angeles last Saturday evening, in which Edith Brown, Mrs. Brown's daughter, was featured in a vocal and dance number and as the vocalist for an impressive Hawaiian tableau.
Vacation plans also include a visit with Mrs. Brown's and Mrs. Reinhardt's brother, Thomas Wyatt, and his family at Modesto.

Norma Jean Tews Entertains With Birthday Party
Exotic glow of colored oriental lanterns casting a soft glow over a picnic table centered with a huge pink and white rose decorated cake, revealed the 16th birthday of Norma Jean Tews, younger daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Howard A. Tews, 700 North Helena street last Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock.
In an outdoor atmosphere of lovely spring flowers gracing the spacious patio of the Tews residence, 25 close friends of Miss Tews applauded as she successfully extinguished all the candles gracing the cake which was enjoyed with delectable refreshments of ice cream, sandwiches and potato chips and relishes.
Highlight of the party was an advertising game with Lorraine Montejo receiving first prize. Other activities included clever and hilarious charade interpretations and dancing to recorded music.

Mrs. W. E. Fennell Named Legion Auxiliary Head

Word has been received that Miss Zoila Smythe is dangerously at the home of her sister, Mrs. Eatrice Smith, at Corona. Miss Smythe is a native of this city and a member of a well known pioneer family, with many friends in this region.

Rev. and Mrs. Sim Now Settled at Wesley Church
Now becoming acquainted here are Rev. and Mrs. Leslie Sim, who have been residing in the pastorate of the Wesley Methodist church, 303 East Alberta street for the last two weeks.
Rev. Sim was assigned to the local church post during the Southern California-Arizona conference of protestant churches held at the Zion Lutheran church here.
During the convention, Rev. and Mrs. C. H. Archibald, then of the Wesley Methodist church for nearly four years, were assigned to missionary work. They will leave for the Lee Memorial Mission, near Calcutta, India, as soon as they can book passage. Their son, Dr. Herbert Archibald, will join them in India as a medical missionary. The Archibalds are now staying with friends at 555 South Illinois street.
Rev. Sim comes here from the Blythe Methodist church where he had been pastor for two years. The Sims were previously from the Drew Seminary at Madison, New Jersey.
Mrs. Sim is a native of California. She is the former Dora May Browning of Redlands where her family now resides.
Rev. Sim is a native of Mass. His family lives in Colton.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Audet of Los Angeles are the proud parents of a new daughter, Margaret Lorraine, who arrived at the Queen of Angels Hospital, Los Angeles, July 10, tipping the scales at 7 pounds and 15 ounces. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bercot of East South street, this city, are the equally proud maternal grandparents of Margaret, their first grandchild. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Audet of Los Angeles. Mrs. Audet, the former Lorraine Bercot, is a native of this city and an alumni of Anaheim schools.
