Doors of City’s Newest Cafe Will Swing Open this Month All of Anaheim will welcome Dorothy and Wade Parker in their new Banquet House, to make its formal bow sometime this month. Only one mile from the heart of this city’s business district, their ultra-modern ranch-style structure, 1418 East Center, will offer an atmosphere of charm and relaxation in the country. An air of refinement will prevail at all times, with the golden glow of candlelight adding that festive touch during the dinner hours, from 4 to 9 in the evening. Featuring four entrees, southern fried chicken, ham, steak and prime rib, prepared in the famous Parker manner that has made this pair a “tradition” among Anaheim and Orange county food fanciers, Wade says, smiling, “I’ll cook your steaks the way you like ’em; Dorothy will greet our friends and customers. We will cater to special reserved club luncheons, banquets and party occasions; our phone, recently installed, is No 4469.” Streamlined horseshoe arrangement of mahogany-finished tables will be set off by the soft green toning of the walls and white draperies. The spacious kitchen is furnished with all the newest equipment and ample parking facilities will be provided on the grounds. Gay green neon will mark their driveway, first house east of the Lincoln school. Plans for their expansion include a glass-in terrace fronting a landscaped garden. The Parkers will be remembered in their first restaurant on West Center street, which they opened in October, 1942. Eleven months later, they purchased the Marigold cafe on East Center, renaming it “The Parker House” and remaining in business there until November, 1945. ANNOUNCE BIRTH OF SON Mr. and Mrs. A. H.
