DOROTHY STRAIN AND JOE SPELMAN TO WED IN IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY
"Congratulations ... may you have an everlasting happiness!" These with many more wishes will be extended Miss Dorothy Louise Strain, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lilbern J. Strain of 719 West Wilshire avenue, Fullerton, and her bridegroom, S/Sgt. Joseph F. Spelman, USMC, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Spelman of Philadelphia, Pa., who will plight their troth at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in impressive rites to be solemnized at St. Mary's church of Fullerton.
The young couple will repeat their vows before an all-white altar arrangement of gladioli and mums in tall white baskets, with cathedral candelabra casting a soft glow over the setting. The Rev. Father Carlos will read the single-ring ceremony to be witnessed by approximately 200 relatives and close friends of their families.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, will carry a white prayer book, graced with white orchids blending into a shower of bouvardia with white satin streamers. Her blonde loveliness will be enhanced by fragile veiling caught by two fine-ribboned clusters spaced low on the back-crown of her tiny brown straw hat. She will wear a smart suit of aqua tone with diagonal slash pockets accenting the collarless jacket. Sentiment will be remembered by a bit of borrowed blue. Brown alligator accessories will complete her ensemble.
Attendants to the bride will be Mrs. Margaret Stirling in pale sunlight toned suit and Talisman rose corsage, as matron of honor, with Miss Jean Bonham, as bridesmaid wearing a suit of brown tone, and yellow rose corsage. Cpl. Joseph A. Marazk, USMC, will be best man with S/Sgt. John Conners and Ensign Harold Hodson, as ushers.

Unseasonable January with morning crusty frost... ice handed an red-nosed residents thaw by noon, decoat themselves and lightheartedly breathe in golden sun dust... but say now... isn't that a fog bank enveloping Anaheim or does the atmosphere threaten rain?
Weekenders debate... will it be the mountains, with their distant peaks forming fluffy white blankets... or will the snow trade places with a liquid avalanche? Could be the beach might be balmy... so let's be off... well, anyhow, popcorn and a book by the blazing heart was what I wanted.
IT'S GOING to be an old-fashioned Valentine's day, with all those exquisite, cherished and traditional trends in vogue this year. Peek at Moon's gift shop window for a mellow and modern study; wonderful simplicity... winsome beauty.
