Anaheim Marine in Advanced School At Naval Station
Marine 1st Lt. Kenneth E. Brunot, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Brunot of Anaheim is at
AWAITING ORDERS
Pvt. Duane Brooke, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Brooke, Rt. 4, Box 66, Anaheim is now awaiting orders overseas. At present he is stationed in Georgia. He is serving in the Signal Corps and is a graduate of Anaheim Union high school and Fullerton Junior college. He was last home on furlough last October.
ANAHEIM SOLDIER AT EMBARKATION PORT
SAN FRANCISCO. — Warrant Officer (jg) Norman D. Ford, Anaheim, Calif., resident recently reported for duty at the San Francisco Port of Embarkation, Installation of the Army Transportation Corps installation.
WOJG Ford, the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Ford, and husband of Alison M. Ford, is a former student of Fullerton College. Prior to entering military service WOJG was engaged as an assistant branch manager of the National Lead Co.
Casualty List Discloses Names of Two Anaheim Men
Two Anaheim men were named in the casualty list released this week by the War and Navy departments and the "missing" status of Seaman Verne Oliver Adams was changed to "dead" according to the list.
Seaman Adams was reported missing last month following the loss of the destroyer Spence in the terrible typhoon in the Southwest Pacific some time ago. He had been overseas since last November. His mother is Mrs. Diana B. Adams, Rt. 4, Anaheim. His widow, Elta Adams and three children make their home in Yorba Linda.

AT LUZON
LeRoy Leep, son of Mr. and Walter Leep of North Street, was in a rest camp
tending an advanced course in instrument flying at the Naval Air Station, Atlanta, Georgia.
He is a veteran of 13 months duty in the Virgin Islands area.
Lt. Brunot is a graduate of Brea High School and later attended Fullerton Junior College.
Four Schinhofen Brothers Serving In Armed Forces
Cpl. Henry W. Schinhofen, Jr. who has been spending his 10-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Schinhofen left from Los Angeles Saturday night to return to Ft. Bragg, N.C. He is stationed there with the Headquarters Battery of the 75th Field Artillery Battalion. He returned to the United States nine months ago after having served in the Aleutians for 22 months and being there during the Dutch Harbor, Attu and Kiska Campaigns. Since then he has had extensive training at Camp Van Dorn, Miss.; Camp Blanding, Fla.; Ft. Bragg, N.C.
He has 3 younger brothers in the service also, Gunther who is in the Coast Guard and at the present time is located in the Dutch East Indies. Bill, of the Navy, is somewhere in the Pacific and Roy of the Merchant Marines, now is home awaiting call for further training.

Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Booher received word that their son, Sgt. Ray Booher had been wounded in action Jan. 12 in Belgium but is now recovering from the thigh wound sustained and is in a hospital in France. His twin brother, Staff Sgt. Roy Booher was killed in action in Belgium last fall. The family home is maintained at Lincoln and Manchester streets. The family came here four years ago from Kentucky.

LeRoy Leep, son of Mr. and Walter Leep of North Street, was in a rest camp place on Luzon when he wrote parents recently and said that was resting up after a lot of fighting, but that he was all and expected to be back in thick of it very soon again. member of the infantry he been in a lot of heavy action as a result wrote "the only to do with the Japs is to comply exterminate them."

OVERSEAS SOON
Mrs. H. C. Kendrick (Roberta Eley) received word recently from her brother Pfc. "Bob" Eley that he expects to go overseas soon. At present he is stationed in Maryland and is with the infantry. He entered the armed services in 1942 and was with the Army Air Force until being transferred presently to the infantry. His wife and child are making their home with her parents in Stockton. Pvt. Eley attended Anaheim schools and graduated from Anaheim Union High school where he was prominent in drmatics and athletics.
WRITES FROM HAWAII
C.C.M. William P. (Paul) Bruce, U.S.N.R., son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Bruce of Anaheim, wrote from Hawaii recently that he expected to leave shortly for a more forward area. He also wrote that he had recently seen Lt. Howard Minder, USN, who is well known here and two other Anahelm men who have since gone to a forward base. They are Al Kohler and Clayton Allen. Bruce is with the 116th Naval Construction battalion. He and his wife had made their home in Hawaii for a number of years prior to his enlistment.
