MR. AND MRS. HENRY WOLLMER MARK
GOLDEN WEDDING WITH OPEN HOUSE
Open house honoring the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wollmer of 1000 West Broadway, was held last Thursday at the home when friends called to extend their congratulations on this memorable day.
In the receiving line with Mr. and Mrs. Wollmer was Mrs. Gesine Heinemann, a girlhood chum, and William Sucksdorf of Whittier, school chum of Mr. Wollmer. Mrs. Wollmer was lovely in a blue print ensemble with a trimming of pink rusching with which she wore a gold orchid. Other members of the receiving line were the daughters, Mrs. George F. Tronjes, who selected a two-piece purple dress trimmed with three gold birds and wore a corsage of yellow rosebuds; Mrs. Paul Scott, lovely in a two-piece wine colored dress with which she wore yellow Talisman roses, and Mrs. H. D. Heyne who chose a black dress with which she wore roses in her hair.
The long refreshment table was centered with a beautiful arrangement consisting of a gold heart surrounded by yellow roses, gladiolus and dahlias, flanked on either with gold candles and gold bells. Those in charge of the table and serving the guests were Mrs. August Eltiste and Mrs. Harold Luce, assisted by Mrs. John Molt and Mrs. Hattie Pierson.

Mr. and Mrs. Tuma Note Wedding Date
Mr. and Mrs. Cullen L. Spencer and their daughter, Joan, honored Mrs. Spencer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Tuma of 413 South Melrose street, with a dinner party at Knott's Berry Farm last Thursday evening in honor of their fortyth wedding anniversary.
The surprise of the evening came when the party returned from their dinner engagement to find that about forty of their friends had assembled at their home to give them a surprise party in honor of the occasion.
The evening was spent socially with games being played, the prize winners being Mrs. Chas. Pannier and Mrs. A. B. Scutt. Mr. Tuma and John Clark were the prize winners among the men.
Refreshments were served from an attractive table centered with a large anniversary cake and accented with roses, gladiolus and asters to add beauty to the appointments.
Mr. Tumas is well known in the city, being the City Treasurer.
WRC Hears Fine Committee Report
Fine committee reports were given at the regular meeting of the A. B. Paul, Women's Relief Corps, last Tuesday when they met in the White Temple Methodist Church bungalow on East Broadway at 2 o'clock.
The reports as given were four hundred and four dollars to relief with four dollars and fifty cents to child welfare, nine calls were made and sixteen bouquets were delivered. A total of one hundred miles in rides were given to service men since the previous report two weeks ago.
Mrs. Etta Countess of Fullerton Corps, was a visitor.
Following the close of the meeting, refreshments of cake and coffee was served by Mrs. Mary Swindler and Mrs. Alma Pressell.
Miss Ruth Bastian To Wed Lt. Barnes On September 17
Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Bastian of 303 West Broadway announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Ruth, to Lt. Ralph "Ken" Wines, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wines, Sr., or Long Beach, the wedding date set at Sept. 17.
A get-together party was held at the Bastian home on Monday evening at which time the announcement was made. A clever means of breaking the news to the friends of Miss Ruth was used when miniature airplanes with small airmail letters bearing the names "Ruth and Ken" were found on their dessert plates.

WEDDING OF MR. AND MRS. H. C. VINCENT
The silver wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Vincent of 913 East Broadway street, Anaheim, has been the occasion of several lovely affairs given in their honor.
The first of these was held at the family home when they greeted a large number of their friends at open house. Their anniversary was on Aug. 30.
Mr. and Mrs. Vincent received their guests with their five daughters in the receiving line with them. Mrs. Vincent was charm- ingly gowned in black lace with which she wore a gardenia corsage. The daughters of this lovely couple are Mrs. Joseph Sholl, Mrs. Laurence Macaray, the Misses Helen, Madelyn and Janet Vincent. They also have two sons, Jimmy of the home, and another son, Harley, who is in the United States Navy.
During the course of the afternoon a very delightful program was presented, the highlight of this being the life history as written by Mrs. Macaray and read by Mrs. Sholl, this being in limmerick, adding to the unusualness of the written document. "Long, Long Ago," a favorite tune, was sung by Miss Janet.
The refreshment table was lovely with appointments in pink and silver with the centerpiece being a beautiful wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom, a family heirloom coming down through the years. The refreshment course was complete with open face sandwiches, candies, nuts and cakes.
Miss Madelyn Vincent presided college, and George Pepperdine college in Los Angeles. She will be associated with the teaching staff of Magnolia elementary school No. 1 at the beginning of the current school year.
Sgt. Waterson is stationed at El Toro Marine Base and has been in the service for three years, fourteen months of which he served in the Southwest Pacific.
Later in the evening, Sgt. and Mrs. Waterson left for a short honeymoon at a mountain resort.

Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Leib of 211 East Sycamore street, announce the marriage of their daughter, Evelyn, to S/Sgt. William H. Waterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Waterson of Cleveland, Ohio.
Sgt. Waterson is stationed at El Toro Marine Base.
The ceremony was performed at eight o'clock, rites read by the Rev. Guy E. Humphreys, pastor of the Church of Christ, in the church auditorium before about two hundred and fifty guests and relatives. The altar before which the ceremony was performed was decorated with palms against which was arranged tall lighted candelabra and baskets of white flowers.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in the traditional white slipper satin fashioned with a deep lace yoke and a fitted bodice, forming a "V" shape at the waistline, with a full skirt entrain. Her veil was fingertip length and was caught to her hair with a tiara of orange blossoms. She carried a white Bible on which rested a white orchid. Her only adornment was a string of pearls, a gift from her bridegroom.
The maid of honor, Miss Eleanor Gehrig of Pasadena, a friend from college days, and Mrs. Robert Hogarth of Los Angeles, matron of honor, a cousin of the bride, chose gowns of quaint styling in hyacinth blue taffeta, identical in

Solemnized Friday
The wedding of Miss June Welch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Welch of Buena Park, and Lester E. Rodieck, son of Emil Rodieck of Anaheim, was solemnized in pretty rites at the First Congregational church in Buena Park last Friday evening with Dr. Robert B. McAulay, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Orange, officiating.
The lovely bride was gowned in traditional satin made entrain with a fingertip veil of illusion. She carried a white Bible topped with white orchids with streamers of stephanotis.
Maid of honor, Miss Dorothy Rodieck, sister of the bridegroom was gowned in pink brocaded mo- line with which she carried pink and blue flowers.
Miss Betty Rodieck, another sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Marvella Pritchard, bridesmaids each wore blue gowns and carried bouquets of pink and blue flowers.
Little Miss Jean Ehrle, dressed in yellow, was flower girl and Gerry Lee Ehrle was the ring bearer.
Richard Sparks served the groom as best man with Jack Welch, brother of the bride, and Eldon Rodieck, ushers.

Bastian graduated from the city of California at Berkene, where she was a memorial Sigma Kappa sorority. Wines has recently returned duty in the Central Pacific Navy flier.

Bonnie Mae Smith of Bonnie Road, Buena Park, a president of Anaheim where graduated from the local high school announces her engagement and approaching marriage Ben N. Davis, son of Mr. Mrs. Harold N. Davis of Coel Mar. Miss Smith is the heir of Mr. and Mrs. Claude of Buena Park.
Mae is a talented musician is quite well known in the musical circle of the city making her home with events on a ranch near Buena.

Mr. and Mrs. George H. Amerige of 616 North Spadra Road, Fullerton, are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary on Tuesday, the 12th of September. They will hold open house to all of their friends from 7 to 10 o'clock in the evening. All their friends are invited to come and help them celebrate this occasion but they ask that no presents be given.
Mr. and Mrs. Amerige are well known in northern Orange county having lived in the same house in Fullerton for a number of years and have been prominent in the affairs of the community and county.
DAUGHTER BORN
Sgt. and Mrs. Berwin Lansdown of 424 South Los Angeles Street, Anaheim, are the parents of a daughter born at St. Joseph hospital on Monday, Sept. 4.
The bride's table was centered with a four-tiered wedding cake and after the traditional cake cutting by the bride and groom, the reception duties were completed by Mrs. Roy Murray, Mrs. R. W. McClellan, Mrs. R. C. Murray and Miss Evelyn Murray. A hand crocheted lace cloth completed the table appointments, with lighted white candles and white bouvardia at each end of the table added to the attractiveness of the setting.
The guest book was in charge of Miss Margaret Ellen Murray and Miss Peggy Lee Lohrey, cousins of the bride.

222 East Center street, were guests at a wedding at Camp Haan lake Sunday when Staff Sergeant Leiter S. Jordan and Miss Marguerie (Peggy) Cornell were married in South Chapel.
