Singer Gets Telegram to Son In Jap Prison About five weeks ago, Mrs. Racheal Singer, mother of Mrs. Arthur Roquet of 757 North Zeyn Street, contacted the services of the American Red Cross in sending a telegram to her son, 1/c Floyd L. Singer, who is a prisoner of the Japs and is in Camp Number 1 in the Philippine Islands. On Tuesday of this week she received word that her telegram had gone through and she is hoping that she may soon hear from him directly. The last letter or word that she received from Floyd was a letter from him last November. He has been in the service for three years and a prisoner of the Japanese for several months now. Mrs. Singer is very happy that she has made this progress in contacting her son and wishes to tell other mothers whose sons are war prisoners that if they will go to the Red Cross and tell them her problem, they will do everything in their power to help. This is just one of the many, many services that the Red Cross is doing here and abroad. Visits Relatives While On Furlough Sgt. While a vessel was burning as the result of a direct hit and in probable danger of further explosions, he went aboard the vessel and rendered assistance to wounded and others at a time when the ship's personnel were unable to do so.
