Dona Lee McKee Is Bride of Sgt. Hornbeck
Miss Dona Lee McKee, daughter of L. J. McKee of Anaheim, and Mrs. L. J. McKee of Huntington Park, became the bride of Sgt. Tremaine Hornbeck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hornbeck of South Gate, Calif., on Saturday evening, March 18, at 6:30 o'clock, the wedding being performed by Chaplain E. Kuhn in an army chapel at Camp Shelby, Hattiesburg, Miss., the double ring ceremony being used.
The bride wore a caramel brown suit and hat with aqua blue accessories and snake skin shoes. Her corsage was white roses.
Mrs. Maisie Ball, matron of honor, was dressed in navy blue with white accessories and navy blue hat and a corsage of red tulips.
Corporal Daniel Ball served as best man with Pvt. Brown at the organ playing the traditional wedding music.
Among those attending the ceremony were Maj. Gen. S. E. Reinhart, Captain and Mrs. Clayton Auckerman and Private Hersch, who were overseas with Sgt. Hornbeck, serving in the south Pacific area.
Sgt. and Mrs. Hornbeck will make their home for the present in Hattiesburg, where he is Communications Instructor at Camp Shelby.

Camera Club Has Annual Election Of Officers
At the regular meeting of the Orange County Camera club held in Santa Ana Wednesday evening, Miss Doris Rasmussen of Anaheim, was elected secretary for the coming term, and is to assume her office at the next meeting, the date to be announced later. Russell Hardcastle of Santa Ana, was elected president; E. F. Mathews, Santa Ana, vice president, and Eldon McNeil, also of Santa Ana, was named treasurer.
The annual showing of pictures was held at this meeting and among the winners was Harold Rasmussen of Anaheim, who won both second and third prizes in the color kodachrome competition.
Girl Reserves Enjoy Parties
The Junior and Senior Girl Reserves and the Junior and Senior Hi-Y enjoyed a skating party on Monday afternoon. The regular meeting of the Girl Reserves was not held due to the Easter vacation.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ricci, 125 North Palm street, are the parents of a new baby daughter born March 30 at Fullerton General hospital. The young lady has been named Eileen Mary and tipped the scales at eight pounds at birth. The Riccis formerly lived at Orange.

ALEXANDER MARKEY GIVES INTERESTING TALK TO EBELL CLUB
The Sectional meeting of Ebell Club was held at the clubhouse, North Helena, on Monday to a varied and most interesting program.
By Four Years in the South Pacific," a subject very near and into the heart of Mr. Alexander Markey, was most interestingly every appropriately given. Mr. Markey has spent four years among the native peoples of the Pacific and has come to love them, not as an uncivilized kind of people but as kind, gentle loving people who are fine factors. During his most extensive talk, he enlarged consideration on the living and thinking these people, especially as to use of mental telepathy and ability to foresee things that the image person is unable to comprehend.
Mr. Markey deviated from the ordinary type of talks in that he had of the people of those lands from a spiritual point of view giving their life as he has lived them in his extensive study in relation to their living and making habits before and after white man migrated into their settlements during his life among the natives there. Mr. Markey has made various habits of life which he prizes very highly but was unable to use in his talk to members of the Ebell Club on Monday afternoon when they held their general meeting.
The speaker was presented by Mrs. Cassie Wethered, program chairman, following the business session that was presided over by Mrs. Paul Demaree, president.
Special and routine business was transacted with the various committees making reports, among which was the nominating committee composed of Mrs. Cortez Hoskins, Mrs. H. D. Newkirk, Mrs. Harry Pearson, Mrs. Paul Davidson and Mrs. C. O. Lewis.
At the luncheon meeting, with Mrs. C. C. Reinert and Mrs. Harry Saulsbery as chairmen, the entire theme was carried out with the Easter motif, a delicious Lenten menu being served. The decorating committee, Mrs. Ray Reafsnyder and Mrs. Richard Ryan, used the main theme of decoration in a most attractive manner on the tables that were arranged to seat the many members and guests.
This meeting was a reciprocity meeting with the Orange County Federated Club Presidents and guests seated at a special table. Mrs. Albert Launer of Fullerton, Sgt. Harold Carlin, Jr., Weds San Diego Girl In Impressive Ceremony
Impressive rites were conducted for the marriage of Miss Charlotte Marie Dewey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Harrington of San Diego, and Sgt. Harold Carlin, Jr., USMC., son of Dr. and Mrs. Harold Carlin of West Broadway, Anaheim, at the Central Christian church in San Diego on March 22 at 7 p.m., Dr. Leland Cooke, pastor of the church, reading the double ring ceremony. More than two hundred relatives and friends were guests. The bride is a descendant of Admiral Dewey.
The altar before which the ceremony was performed was very beautifully arranged with baskets of white calla lilies and white stock placed against a background of palms with two candelabra holding lighted tapers at each side of the altar.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was a lovely picture in a gown of white satin and chiffon with a long train, her fingertip veil held in place with a halo of orange blossoms intermingled with a ruffle of beautiful lace. She carried a white prayer book upon which rested an orchid and wore as her only adornment, a strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom.

Archibald, pastor of the Wesley Methodist Church of this city, and Mrs. Archibald, Mrs. Demaree's guest for the day. Rev. Archibald's topic was "Easter in India," a very appropriate and excellently given talk. Previous to his established residence in Anaheim, he spent several years in India among the natives of that country. He gave a vivid picture of life in India and told of the Easter spirit pervailing among those people. His talks concerning the spiritual, business and daily lives of the inhabitants of that far-away country is one to be long remembered.
A trio, accompanied at the piano by Miss Katherine McCullough, sang the beautiful sacred song, "Oh Sacred Head," the trio being the Misses Gania and Ruth Demaree, daughters of the president, and Miss Edith Browne. The number was greatly enjoyed and was beautifully sung by the young ladies.
Birthday Party Honors Twins
Carol and Carl Robertson, twin son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Robertson, 125 North Janss, were honored on their third birthday when Mrs. Robertson entertained a number of little friends at the city park Monday afternoon.
The twin cakes, a pink Lady Baltimore cake for Carol, and a blue Lord Baltimore cake for Carl, was the center of attraction for the young guests along with the Easter motif used in the paper plates and gay Easter napkins. Soap ducks, Easter eggs and milk frogs were carried out with the Easter motif, a delicious Lenten menu being served. The decorating committee, Mrs. Ray Reafsynder and Mrs. Richard Ryan, used the main theme of decoration in a most attractive manner on the tables that were arranged to seat the many members and guests. The bridesmaids, Mrs. Creighton C. Collier, nee Clarice Cheatham, Miss Margaret Leitch, Miss Frances McNevin and Miss Beulah Fulkerson, were gowned in pink and blue chiffon formals, two of each color, and wore ribbons in their hair to match their gowns. Each carried an old-fashioned nosegay of pink rosebuds and sweetpeas.
Mrs. Harrington, mother of the bride, was gowned in a suit of Teal blue and wore navy accessories. Mrs. Carlin, the groom's mother, was dressed in navy blue and with this she chose white accessories. Each wore a corsage of pink rosebuds.
Mr. Robert Weaver of this city, attended the groom as best man.
The ushers were four friends of the bridegroom who had served in the Marine band with him while in Pearl Harbor and who are in camp with him in this country. They were Joseph Trotter, Buford Edwards, Silas Carr and William Nemmel. During the ceremony, the ushers very impressively stood at attention.
Forrest Gray, another friend of the groom in the Marine service, sang "Because" and "Smilin' Through" preceding the ceremony with Mrs. Davenport, church organist, playing the accompaniments and the wedding marches.
A reception was held in the church parlors following the ceremony. The table was centered with a four-tiered wedding cake and lighted tapers were placed at each end of the table with flowers completing the setting. Lovely bouquets of flowers throughout the parlor completed the decoration. The bride and groom cut the first piece of cake.
Assisting in the serving were Mrs. T. McNevin, Mrs. W. Fulkerson, Mrs. C. S. Cheatham, with each side of the altar.

A new shoe repair shop will be opened within the next few days in the store room at 113 East Center street, by John Samon, formerly of Austin, Texas, where he operated a shoe repair business for 37 years. Mr. Samon recently purchased a home at 559 South Los Angeles street and has moved his family here.

Sergeant and Mrs. Carlin left, following the reception, for Warner Hot Springs for a short honeymoon, returning to Anaheim last weekend for a short visit and to attend the reception given in the bride's home on Sunday.
For her going-away costume, Mrs. Carlin wore a gold suit, a seafoam coat and brown accessories and an orchid shoulder corsage.
Open house was held Sunday at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Carlin in honor of the young couple, following their return from their honeymoon. Mrs. Weaver, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Carlin, was co-hostess. A large number of friends were invited to greet the young couple.
The tea table was most attractive with the centerpiece being a low bowl filled with pink camellias and tapers with pink candles completing the arrangement. Dainty tea cakes frosted with pink and white served by Mrs. Richard Clark of this city, and Mrs. Harold Morris of Fullerton poured.
Mrs. Carlin, Jr., was gowned in a lovely flame colored gown and Mrs. Weaver wore a soft pink chiffon formal. Mrs. Carlin, Sr., was dressed in navy blue.
The bridal couple will make their home temporarily in San Diego where Sgt. Carlin is stationed at Camp Pendleton with the 28th Bn of the 5th Regiment.

The Orange County Fine Arts has concluded of spring recitals given spacious auditorium of the studio at 520 North Los Anno last of these being heldursday evening, with from the Junior departmenting a varied program on songs and several beautiful hymns.
On Friday evening the Junior department played a musical doll festival, very early using dolls to illustrate theme.

On Thursday evening, senior high school group performed a varied program of music readings by drama student Lois Rees Auer, speech drama teacher at the school.
At the close of the program the entire audience participated in singing the Easter hymn, "Hallelujah."
Honor awards were presented to several of the students group.

Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Burns were hosts to the wedding party of their niece, Miss Regine W. Clarke who became the bride of Lt. (jg) Arthur R. Hooker, Jr., last Sunday following their wedding at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana, at the home, "The Palms", at 1420 South Los Angeles Street.
Mrs. C. W. Clarke, of San Diego, mother of the bride, and Mrs. A. R. Hooker, Santa Ana, mother of the groom, poured and the wedding cake was served by Miss Sallie Jo Clarke, sister of the bride, while Mrs. Louise Fisher of this city served the ice cream.
Danny Doller Has Birthday Party Thursday
Danny Doller celebrated his fifth birthday anniversary last Thursday afternoon when his mother, Mrs. Warren Doller of 726 South Philadelphia, entertained a number of small guests in his honor.
Games and entertainment for small folks were enjoyed during the afternoon with the refreshment course and Easter decorations being the climax of the occasion. Centering the birthday table was a large cake topped with miniature Easter nest and small yellow baby chicks bordering the outer edge. Gaily colored Easter eggs, with ribbon streamers running to the cake, were at each place. These eggs had each little guest's name on it. Danny gave a story book and a cellophane-wrapped Easter basket as favors.
Of the many fine gifts he received, the $25.00 War Bond received from his paternal grandfather, Patrick Gallagher of What Cheer, Iowa, was his most prized gift.
A refreshment course of ice cream and cake was served to Walter Birch, Alan Moody, Freddie and George Oelkers, Daryl Wimberly, David, Billie and Jimmy Doller, brothers of the honoree.

The Orange County School of Fine Arts has concluded a series of spring recitals given in the spacious auditorium of their studio at 520 North Los Angeles, the last of these being held last Saturday evening, with the boys from the Junior department giving a varied program of cowboy songs and several beautiful Easter hymns.
On Friday evening the girls of the Junior department presented a musical doll festival, very cleverly using dolls to illustrate their theme.
Introductions were made by members of these groups who acted as masters of ceremonies, with students from the drama departments appearing on the programs also.

Noins Husband In New York City
Mrs. Harvey Lytel, the former Miss Isadore McFadden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McFadden left last Monday for New York City where she met her husband who has recently returned from Egypt where he has been engaged in the interests of an oil company for the past several years. During his absence, Mrs. Lytel has been making her home here with her parents.
