Sgt. Schmeltzer Praises Red Cross In Recent Letter
With everyone being Red Cross minded these days, now that the annual drive for funds is on, further proof of its great worth came in a letter this week to the Rev. and Mrs. H. G. Schmeltzer of 318 South Lemon street from their son, S/Sgt Victor C. Schmeltzer who is wounded and in a base hospital in the south Pacific.
Unable to write himself because of an injury to his right arm, the letter was written by a Red Cross worker at his dictation. He asked his family not to worry about him saying that he was getting the very best of care and that the Red Cross was doing a wonderful work. He is to have another operation on his arm soon and he said, "I expect everything to work out all right."
His many friends here can write to him at the following address: S/Sgt. Victor C. Schmeltzer, Serial No. 19097803, 42nd General Hospital, APO 923, c/o Postmaster, San Francisco, California.

When in need of job printing call the Anaheim Gazette, Phone 2206. "We'll be there in a minute."
"Well, Sarge, I was thinking about calling the folks when I get off tonight"
If you were away in camp, you'd know how much that call means.
You can help the service men by not making any casual Long Distance calls between 7 and 10 at night.
That's when most of them call and there's a big rush on many circuits.
