Burden, pastor of White Temple Louis Danz Turner Book, Preceded By ELEANOR ELLIOTT Sharing interest with critics in the recently published novel, "It Is Still the Morning," no means the first book to from Danz's pen, but it is and away the best thing done so far. Many readers found rather heavy going on "Zarathustra Jr. Speaks or "The Psychologist Lou Art", may have anticipated some obscurity in his first But they were pleasantly pointed. For while this "story of gie" is written in the street consciousness manner, it is clear, and a delightful Danz has proven that the brush strokes used by a painter in painting a which the seeing consciences imbues with life, can be to story telling as well. Or all unnecessary detail, he does his story simply and clearly a surprising minimum of While of course "George "Muchilcha" as his grandfather calls him, is uppermost his own story, the grandfather unforgettable character "beard could say more than people can by talking." Thomas Burden Gives Series Of Talks To Clubs This week introduced a busy holiday season of speaking engagements for the Rev. Thomas L. Burden, pastor of White Temple Methodist church. Yesterday afternoon he addressed Benjamin Franklin P.-T.A. members on "The Place of Religion in Life." On Tuesday the Rev. Mr. Burden went to Highland Park as guest speaker for the Bible section meeting of the afternoon session on that city's Ebell club in its all-day session. His subject was "Faith in Times of Stress" and his talk was highly commended. ONE SACK LIMIT Louis Danz Turns To Fiction In Latest Book, Preceded By More 'Arty' Volumes (By ELEANOR ELLIOTT) Sharing interest with literary critics in the recently published novel, "It Is Still the Morning", Louis Danz, former Anaheim New living in Santa Ana, many real friends of the author see in the book an answer to that question, "What shall I give for Christmas?" "It Is Still the Morning" is by Louis Danz's pen, but it is far away the best thing he has done so far. Many readers who found rather heavy going in his carathustra Jr. Speaks of Art". "The Psychologist Looks at It," may have anticipated the same obscurity in his first novel. But they were pleasantly disappointed. For while this "story of Georgette" is written in the stream-of-miscellaneous manner, it is lucid, clear, and a delightful story. Danz has proven that the few rush strokes used by a modern writer in painting a canvas which the seeing consciousness abuses with life, can be applied to story telling as well. Omitting unnecessary detail, he develops his story simply and clearly, with surprising minimum of words. While of course "Georgie" or Muchilcha" as his grandfather tells him, is uppermost in his own story, the grandfather is an forgettable character whose heard could say more than some people can by talking." It was grandfather who said "Life is like today. There is the morning and the noon and then the evening before the night. For Muchilcha is still the morning". And it was Former Buena Park Man Blamed For Own Death in Crash David O. Allen, 40, of Long Beach, former resident of Buena Park, came to his death through his own fault, or through nobody's fault, according to a verdict of the coroner's jury, following an accident Friday afternoon. Allen, who had been ill, drove his car into a parked truck on First street near the Harbor boulevard intersection. It is believed that he was suddenly seized with an illness and lost control of the car, or died suddenly at the wheel. John R. Nugent, 27, of Santa Ana, who parked the truck off the road was not blamed in connection with Allen's death. Funeral services were held Mrs. Albert J. Janzen presided over a short business session during which Mrs. Charles Scheinfest read various club communications. Mrs. Charles O. Watters was in charge of program features, and introduced Eleanor Young Elliott of the Anaheim Gazette, who gave a group of Christmas stories. These included Edna St. Vincent Millay's "Ballad of the Harp Weaver" and the amusing tale of "The Little Mixer" by Lillian Nicholson Shearon. Mrs. Schweinfest invited the group to meet with her in January when Mrs. C. E. Chamberlain will be program chairman. Help is scarce.
