As soon as September arrives and the first cool nights send nut leaves fluttering to the ground in Orange county's mornings, everyone's thoughts automatically to the approach Thanksgiving.
Always a "movable feast" has nevertheless come to be more or less static in the minds of nation's home-loving people, the final Thursday of November. But the last few years have changed, so that the date as creed by the powers that be Washington, and the date as termined upon in the American home, have not always coincide.
Consequently we have brated two Thanksgivings, the one that was decreed officially, the one that the heart loved.
But it seems that this year will have only one. And that will be the final Thursday of November, as we have come to expect over a period of many years.

Thanksgiving Date Officially Set
It soon as September arrives the first cool nights send wall-leaves fluttering to the land in Orange county's many parks, everyone's thoughts turn dramatically to the approach of Thanksgiving.

The last few years have seen ages, so that the date as deferred by the powers that be in Washington, and the date as deemed upon in the American state, have not always coincided. Instead we have celebrated two Thanksgivings, the one was decreed officially, and one that the heart loved.

While the fair is not competitive there will be ribbon awards, blue for three points; red for two; white for one, and green for honorable mention. A sweepstakes prize of a pressure cooker will be presented the exhibitor holding the most points won in both divisions, with special awards of fertilizer and fruit jars to those holding the most points in division one and two.
Exhibits must all be in the clubhouse by noon next Thursday, with all specimens plainly label-

St. Michael's Episcopal church, East Adele at Emily street, of which the Rev. D. Howard Dow is rector, will observe Holy Communion Sunday morning at 8 o'clock. Public worship will be at the customary morning hour of 10:30 o'clock.

Sunday's sermon subjects at Bethel Baptist church as announced by the Rev. H. G. Dymmel will be "The Greatness of Little Things" at the morning service at 11 o'clock, and "The Number 666" for 7:30 p.m. Of outstanding interest will be the talk at 6:30 p.m. by Harry Wilson, a veteran of the global war. His subject will be "God is a Very Present Help."
