Anaheim Has Fine Record in Salvage Campaign (Continued from page 1) cars there, together with a Fordson tractor from the Martenet ranch. Schools are cooperating, and plans for a high school dance to be held Friday night, were smiled upon by Superintendent Paul H. Demaree, when it developed that "scrap" was to be the price of admission. Keys, whose metal offers price-less nickel for defense, are being collected everywhere, and Paper and Twine club, a national organization of paper men, has placed containers in the city and rural schools, for receivving contributions. “This salvage drive for Victory places a new army in the field,” today declared Jacob Mumm of the Magnolia school district. Enlisted in this “army” are children of Magnolia, Magnolia No. 2, Loara and Orangethorpe districts under supervision of their respective principals, Mrs. Mattie Lou Maxwell, P. H. Pendleton, R. M. Clawes and Mrs. E. F. Wilmsen. This drive by district school children supplements the canvas of all districts made by individual salvage wardens, who have explained the urgent need for metals, rubber, hemp, burlap bags, rope and rags. Rural districts have been well informed also on the need for conserving waste fats, and Chairman Mumm pointed out that any old fur pieces will be gratefully received. When taken to local fur merchants, these will be made up into warm vests to protect members of the nation’s Merchant Marine. CHRISTIAN SCIENCE Sunday's Golden Text in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, is from Psalms, and reads; "Salvation belongs unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people." The subject will be “Are Sin, Disease and Death Real?” A selection from “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy, includes such statements as “It is well to be calm in sickness; to be hopeful is still better; but to understand that sickness is not real and that Truth can destroy its seeming reality, is best of all, for this understanding is the universal and perfect remedy.” WHITE TEMPLE METHODIST Sunday services at White Temple Methodist church as announced today by the pastor, the Rev.
