Katherine Ruth Gillilan of Placentia Becomes Bride of William Jack Suiter Of Anaheim at Fullerton Church Friday Brunette beauty manifested itself in an ivory clapper satin gown when Miss Katherine Ruth Gillilan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Thomas Gillilan of Placentia, Friday evening, became the bride of William Jack Suiter, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kent Suiter of Anaheim, at the First Methodist Church in Fullerton. Officiating at the nuptial rites was Rev. Arthur M. Schultz, pastor of the First Methodist church in Burbank. Furnishing the background for the lovely scene at the altar were white candles in candelabra, satin ribbons and white carpet. The bride's flowers were white orchids, gardenias and bouvardia, shaped as a heart. Miss Margaret Gillilan was her sister's maid of honor. She was dressed in blue chiffon over blue taffeta, and carried a yellow net basket filled with yellow roses and blue delphinium. FOUR BRIDESMAIDS Mrs. Raymond Stone, Mrs. Nathan McCray, sister of the bridegroom; Miss Rosemary Williams and Miss Martha Jane Preble, sorority sister of the bride, were bridesmaids. Their gowns were of chartreuse chiffon over matching taffeta. They carried blue baskets with wellow pompoms and blue delphinium and all wore pearls, the gift of the bride. Little flower girl was Darlene Curtis, who wore a long white chiffon dress over taffeta. The bridegroom's attendants were his brother, Wililam Kent Suiter, jr., of Westwood, best man; his cousin, Glen Robinson of Anaheim; William Wyckoff of Glendale, brother-in-law of the World War II Asks For Women’s Help; Anaheimers Needed This is the people's war! Men have pledged to keep the fires burning in Tokyo and Berlin while women keep the home fires burning. And yet, women of Anaheim have not volunteered their aid to make the current salvage campaign here a success. While their brothers, husbands and sons are training themselves and building ships, planes and tanks to win this war, the women have thus far failed in their job—at least in this city! The local salvage committee needs at least 250 women. All these women are asked to do is to visit homes in their block and ask residents to pledge themselves to save scrap material for the salvage trucks which will call later. That is all they have to do. Perhaps the reason there have been no volunteers is that the women have no time. Time is precious in whatever phase of the battle it may touch. Yet no one's individual time is more important than the time spent to aid the war effort. Women of Anaheim, here is your opportunity! You've asked Surprise Wedding Follows Water Company Dinner A surprise garden wedding happened off the dinner for Anaheim Union Water company employee board of directors and family last night in the home of a superintendent, William Walt near Placentia.
