Miss Jean McKim Becomes Mrs. Orville Scully at Capilla de San Antonio Miss Jean McKim was the picture of a modern July bride in her white moire taffeta wedding gown with a finger-tip veil and carrying a shower bouquet of bride's roses and bouvardia at her marriage ceremony Sunday afternoon when she became Mrs. Orville Scully at Capilla de San Antonio. Officiating was Rev. F. C. Carrier of Glendale. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McKim now of Northern California and former residents of this city. Mr. Scully is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Scully of Hynes. Given in marriage by her father, the bride entered the chapel on the arm of her uncle, Louis Hennig. She carried a lovely lace handkerchief, belonging to her late grandmother, Mrs. Annie McKim. Twilight Ceremonies At Chapel Saturday Wed Two Couples Two twilight weddings were performed in the outdoor chapel of Capilla de San Antonio, south of Anaheim, Saturday. Couples married were Miss Wanda Lorene Smith and James L. Morris, both of Anaheim, and Miss Helen M. Hurst of Placentia and Louis Henthorn of Anaheim. The former Miss Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Smith of 1216 Diamond street. She is a graduate of Anaheim high school and Fullerton junior college. Mr. Morris attended Anaheim high school and UCLA. After a brief honeymoon they will make their home in Anaheim. The former Miss Hurst is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Hurst of Placentia. She is a graduate of Fullerton high school and which had been carried by her own mother. Matron of honor was Mrs. Bruce Kelley, cousin of the bride, from New York. She was gowned in blue ladyship crepe and carried an arm bouquet of pink larkspur and coral gladioli. Mrs. Omar McKim; Juletta McKim and Colette Henning, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids. They were dressed in soft shades of pink and carried blue delphinium and coral gladioli. Flower girl was little Miss Sandra Neslund in pastel floor-length dress. In her hand was a dainty white basket of gay-colored flowers. BRIDEGROOM ATTENDANTS Best man was James Scully, brother of the groom. Ushers were Bill Simpson and Joe Leech of La Sierra college in Arlington and Kenneth Miles, cousin of the bride. Music at the wedding was provided by Omar McKim, brother of the bride, who came from San Francisco, where he is stationed in the Navy. He played organ selections and accompanied Dr. C. O. Patterson of Anaheim in "At Dawning" and "O Promise Me." Mrs. Lorraine Combs of Los Angeles played a violin solo entitled "Sweet Mystery of Life." FULLERTON RECEPTION A reception followed in the patio and garden of the home of Miss Fallon Tells Betrothal to Friends at Party Mary Frances Fallon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Fallon, 618 North Clementine street, announced her engagement to David Harold Berger, son of Lydia Berger of 218 East W Street, at a party given at parent’s home last week. The marriage will be in early fall, if present plans are carried through. Many delightful guessing games having to do with a wedding played by the group of girl friends at the party. A clever play about Don and Mary Frances composed by the group. Refreshments of cake and cream were served. Guests enjoying the affair were Mary Coffman, Jean Schneider, Esther Suhr, Alice Imfield, Charle Weatherman, Mrs. Barbara Cleister and Ruth Zimmermann. Movies Record Fun At Ronnie Keith’s Birthday Party Colored motion pictures of child’s birthday party are now the possession of Mrs. S. L. Keith following a party in the city Friday for her son, Ronnie. The four-year-old boy was rounded by many tiny friends with whom he enjoyed walks and playing in the park. A late birthday cake featured freshment hour. Favors were miniature fire engines and other novelties. Guests included Mrs. Mau Shirk and daughter, Joan; Henthorn of Anaheim. The former Miss Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Smith of 1216 Diamond street. She is a graduate of Anaheim high school and Fullerton junior college. Mrs. Louis Hennig served the punch. G. Schmelzer, wife of Rev. Schmelzer, former pastor of the Zion Lutheran church, was removed to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Colleasure of 555 South Zeyn street from Anaheim Lutheran hospital last week. She will remain in a wheel chair for several weeks until the plaster casts are removed from her ankles. Renner The S2R Store Former Mildred Bell Announces Marriage To Charles Whitaker at Club Meeting Members of the Topperettes club were surprised last week at the news of the marriage of the former Miss Mildred Bell to Charles Whitaker of Fullerton, announced at the home of Mrs. Ralph Ring on North Palm street. The hostess, in announcing the news, told guests to pop gayly colored balloons for some news. Tiny scrolls were contained in the balloons and read, "Millie and Charlie, Las Vegas, March 22." The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Bell of Anaheim, has been a popular member of the club and served as its president for one term. She is a graduate of Anaheim high school and attended Fullerton junior college. She is now employed as a bookkeeper at the Western Auto company here and will continue to work. Mr. Whitaker is the son of Mrs. Alice W. Whitaker of Fullerton. He was educated in the Fullerton schools, also attended Fullerton junior college and San Jose State college. He is with the Fluor Construction company in Los Angeles. They plan to make their permanent home in Fullerton. During the club meeting, Mrs. John Tucker and Mrs. Mig Lyles were presented with ice cream birthday cakes. The game of "Hearts" was played during the evening. Miss Linger Home From Year at New York Seminary Miss Corinne Linger, daughter of Mrs. Mary A. Linger of this city, returned last week from a year of study at the New York Biblical Seminary in New York City. She will be with her mother for the summer, and in the fall will return to the eastern school to complete work of her Master's degree. Miss Linger expects to be a director of Christian education and will serve as chairman of the house committee at the Seminary next year. While in New York, the Anaheim girl attended many stage performances and musical events, including the Metropolitan opera. She made a number of interesting side trips, and just before coming home, was at Asbury college in Wilmore, Ky., for commencement exercises. En route to the coast she stopped in Washington, D.C., and in Clarksburg, W.Va., where she was a guest of her uncles, Dr. Basil Linger and Dr. Freeman Linger. Evanston and Chicago, Ill., were included on her homeward itinerary, and in Albuquerque, N.M., the student spent some time with her cousin, Mrs. John L. Sutton. Miss Linger is a graduate ofanta Ana high school,and junior college and Whittier college. Pair Return from Denver Conference Three days at the National Education association conference at Denver and then visits to points of interest enroute home were enjoyed recently by Vincenta Carleton and Adele Howard of this city. During the three days at Denver, they visited Mt. Evans and the famous Red Rock Canyon.An Indian Pow Pow was witnessed by the two at Flagstaff and at Prescott,Ariz.,they saw a rodeo.A few days were spent with friends,Mr. and Mrs.P.J.Morin.at Cottonwood,新 Mexico. SHOPPING TOUR Mary Millerick, owner of the Mary Millerick Dress shop on East Center street, arrived home this week from a shopping tour in the east. CAMP THOUSAND PINES Rev. H. G. Dymmel of the Bethel Baptist church will be present at the California Baptist convention at Camp Thousand Pines from July 19 to 26.
