In closing these few great timonials concerning this that Mr. Meyer calls "beyond grasp of rational beings" "more than some of them stomach," I want to add the mony of the great John R who said "EVERYTHING THE HAVE WRITTEN, EN GREATNESS THAT HAS IN ANY THOUGHT OF ME WHATEVER I HAVE DONE MY LIFE HAS BEEN SINCE TO THE FACT WHEN I WAS A CHILD MOTHER DAILY READ ME PART OF THE BIBLE DAILY MADE ME LEARN PART OF IT BY HEART." And on we could go mention Gen. Douglas Macaulay and Gen. Sir Dobby, leader held Malta through Overbombings of that island. Both love God and His love word. TODAY MILLION COPIES OF BIBLE IN FULLY 300 LAST AGES ARE IN CIRCULATION. Mr. Meyer says that he "90 per cent of the human..." The Man's Opinion--Editorial Commentary (Continued from page 1) In or does any reader accept anything without weighing it by their own standards? Do they stand upon each said and act accordingly. Hardly. They judge from presentation, pick the brand they like the best and use should a reader do more or less with Paul Meyer's article week? Here would the American system of government be if factors were forced to hold their tongues each time they need with the majority of opinion? What reaction you have should any such censorship be imposed upon personally? I assured that such will never come to pass so long as country has a free press. That is why Paul Meyer was an opportunity to speak his mind. You in disagree-with him have the same privilege, plus the sympathetic understanding of the majority of the people. In the interest of fairness this newspaper has opened columns for reader's letters and is publishing herewith of such received on the subject. May we also state that personally we indorse the chap as an institution and commend the reading of the Bible civilian and soldier as does the President of the United States who writes: "As Commander-in-Chief I take pleasure in commending the reading of the Bible to all who serve in the armed forces of the United States. Throughout the centuries many faiths and diverse origins have found in the Bible Book words of wisdom, counsel and inspiration. It is a tain of strength and now, as always, an aid in attaining highest aspirations of the human soul." Answers To "Unmasking The Bible" By Paul S. Meyer KIM GAZETTE Why we are in the midst of a struggle to save our way of land democracy, as well as sanity. Our enemies care for our God or much less for Bible which teaches the way truth and everlasting life. WE DO, AND THE PRINCIPLES OF THE BIBLE SHALL FOREVER. The nation that God and His word shall end into Hell says the Bible. Article such as was printed in Gazette last week by Mr. Meyer was not unmasking the out rather the writer. He says throw the Bible card and curse the Jew that anything to do with it. The God needs. BUT WE IN AMER-DON'T CARE FOR THIS HIGH AND THANK GOD WE WILL A PRESIDENT, THAT ONLY ALLOWS EVERY ARE dumbells." I suppose he classes himself with the other 10 per cent. Allow me to say I'd rather remain with the 90 per cent if the great men I've quoted from above, are there also. Concerning the contradictions, Mr. Meyer says there are, in the Holy Will, I might only add that I will not deal with this subject as I am limited in space and regardless the BIBLE CAN SPEAK FOR ITSELF. I will say that if I were to use the reasoning Mr. Meyer used in trying to make the Bible contradict itself I could prove the Bible says, "THERE IS NO GOD." But of course when you turn to Psa. 53:1, we see in what manner it speaks these words. TO QUOTE THE BIBLE: "The FOOL HATH SAID IN HIS HEART, THERE IS NO GOD." That is the manner in which and Rider Haggard and other adult books. At 12 I read every-one of Shakespeare's plays. Intellect, oh my! My father was intellectual, too. He was too smart a man to believe anything that didn't fit into his knowledge and understanding of things. I heard him argue with his Christian sister hundreds of times during those six to eight years, proving by all the wisdom of this world there was nothing to it. If, by any chance, there was a great God, he was too great to fiddle around with mankind, and take a personal interest in him, and certainly there was no such things as miracles etc., etc., etc. Mr. Meyers knows all the arguments. At 15 my own Gigantic Intellect went to work on the problem. I reasoned thusly: "Where did we come from? We're here. Wherever we came from in the very beginning must understood. The only conditions I haven't been able prove no contradictions are the matter of numbers; age of Terah at the birth Abraham is an example. But to reach an end lengthy letter. I was 35 years before I was reborn as Jesse Nicodemus we must all think even Mr. Meyers' mind admit that 35 is not a childish age nor the age of it. It is a very practical, sane after that clear, definitive experience of a new bird spiritual eyes were opened. Now I understand so many I tried to accept before being balked by that wonderful of mine. The Spirit is as tables and chairs yet in realm. And Jesus lives and to me and walks with me I'm not insane. This article is likely intended for readers interested in learning more about the Bible and its significance in their lives. In closing these few great testimonial concerns this Bible Mr. Meyer calls "beyond the cup of rational beings" and more than some of them can reach," I want to add the testimony of the great John Ruskin who said "EVERYTHING THAT I WERE WRITTEN, EVERY GREATNESS THAT HAS BEEN ANY THOUGHT OF MINE, WHATEVER I HAVE DONE IN MY LIFE HAS BEEN SIMPLY ME TO THE FACT THAT WHEN I WAS A CHILD MY OTHER DAILY READ ME A PART OF THE BIBLE AND I MADE ME LEARN A PART OF IT BY HEART." And on we could go as we mention Gen. Douglas MacArthur in Gen. Sir Dobby, leader who led Malta through over 2000 ambitions of that island. They love God and His logos or words. Over 100 years ago Mr. Voltaire, the French Atheist and necrotic said there would not be a copy of the Bible on earth 400 years from his death. COLTAIRE IS DEAD AND THE GENEVA BIBLE SOCIETY IS USING THE VERY PRINTING PRESS ON WHICH THIS INFIDEL'S PROPHECY AS PRINTED. TODAY 400 MILLION COPIES OF THE BIBLE IN FULLY 300 LANGUAGES ARE IN CIRCULATION. Mr. Meyer says that he thinks per cent of the human family asked me to answer it. Ordunately I would ignore an article like that but I don't want to let the lad down. Questions arise in my mind about this Paul Meyer. Unless he is representing some organization which wants Christianity out of the way for its own ulterior purposes, it seems sort of foolish for a man of such gigantic intellect to waste good money and time expressing his views unless he is not satisfied with them and hopes to be convinced. The Bible specifically states that the carnal mind cannot understand spiritual things. On the other hand the regenerated Christian, (and that is the only genuine Christian there is) will not be moved by Mr. Meyers' dissertation except by pity for him that his faith in his own intellect robs him of the joy and peace that comes from faith in one much greater than he. Many years ago G. Bernard Shaw wrote a similar article published in the magazine section of the Los Angeles Examiner. I wasn't very old then but the statements made concerning what was in the Bible to prove it contradicted itself, I could answer without even bothering to look them up. I concluded that Mr. Shaw was either woefully ignorant of his subject, or else wilfully misrepresenting it. I couldn't believe him ignorant of the FACTS in the Bible so concluded the latter to be the case. If Mr. Meyers is an honest man then I can understand him except for the trouble he has gone to to make his views known. I have one thing in common with him. I also once had a mind I thought was superior. My father used to brag all over the community about it when I was between six and eight years of age and they didn't attempt to keep it a secret from me. I was reading Hell-Cains find it. Of course my theory may be wrong, but it is reasonable. Even my gigantic intellect could accept it and I've presented it to others like myself and they have admitted it is probably correct. Years went on. I joined the church. I was still an unregenerated yet earnest seeker after God. I saw that the church was the best medium of service even if it was not being administered always wisely and well. It cannot fulfill its mission when led by men who have accepted its leadership as a profession the same as they might have become doctors and lawyers. I was a very busy person in the church, working at it with singleness of heart, yet often subject to the doubts my father had implanted in me in my childhood. Once when I was pestered for days with the constantly recurring thought, "There is no God," I stumbled on a verse: "If thou wilt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and wilt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved." I thought, "Until one has met the conditions of any promised result, there has been no fair test." (For example: Cold creams not applied according to directions.) I said, "I'm going to act exactly as if I did believe; that is as near as I can come to fulfilling the conditions. If there is a God He'll know I'm doing my best to understand. It was not long till that black cloud of doubt lifted. However, always, all my life through and even yet, I faced apparent contradictions in the Bible instead of refusing to see them. More than once I've thought I would have to back down. That here was an insurmountable contradiction. But as I studied and searched I HOW TO MAKE YOUR VACUUM CLEANER LAST LONGER YOUR vacuum cleaner contains aluminum, rubber, copper, zinc, tin and steel—and so do tanks, planes, ships and guns. War needs must come first. This is why production of vacuum cleaners has been substantially cut, making it increasingly difficult to replace your old one. Your vacuum cleaner will clean considerably better and last considerably longer if you follow these few, simple rules: 1. Pick up sharp bits of glass, pins, or tacks before running your cleaner over the rug or floor. 2. Empty the dirt bag at least once a week and have it dry-cleaned twice a year. Keep brush free of threads and hair. 3. Use a wall plug, not a light socket, to connect the vacuum cleaner and pull the plug—not the cord—when you disconnect the cleaner. 4. Don't run machine over the cord. When putting the cleaner away, wrap cord loosely around the hooks provided for that purpose. Never wrap the cord tightly or you may After that clear, definite, dated experience of a new birth my spiritual eyes were opened wide. How I understand so many things tried to accept before but was talked by that wonderful mind in mine. The Spirit is as real asibles and chairs yet in another calm. And Jesus lives and talks me and walks with me. No am not insane. I still insist that be given proof of everything. But as I said in the beginning, to have proof of spiritual things one must have the spiritual mind set working, enlightened and ready to receive that proof. Mr. Editor, if you do not wish to publish this letter, I'd appreciate your handing it to Mr. Paul Meyers, just on the chance that he is representing himself and not some organization; that he is not altogether at rest and satisfied with his point of view, and that he may be intelligent enough to believe there are some unexplored realms yet that these little ant-like minds of ours might not know about. Sincerely, LUCY GRAIG, 329 South Pomona Ave., Brea, California. SPACE DONATED TO OPA BY ANAHEIM GAZETTE Number 6 of a series of informative advertisements showing how to get the most out of your hot water service Is there a hot water bottleneck in your house? WHEN THE RUSH IS ON GAS DELIVERS IT HOT! WHEN THE RUSH IS ON GAS DELIVERS IT HOT! FREE! This interesting, helpful new leaflet, HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR HOT WATER SERVICE. It tells you about baths to help you sleep—the kind of bath to take after exercise—baths for baby, and many other types. Other important information, too, such as laundering your clothes to make them last longer, and making your present gas water heater do a better job. See your merchant plumber or gas company. There comes a time in most homes when everyone seems to need hot water—all at once. Perhaps it's early morning—the time for shaving, showering, breakfast cooking. That's when you really appreciate a good, dependable hot water supply—a supply that won't give out. Have your water heater set for 140°! Why 140°? Because it's ideal for quick, economical service—particularly during "rush hour." Hot enough for fast delivery; not too hot to require excess fuel or to "age" the tank. For cooler water, temper from the cold faucet. How to get the most out of your hot water service: 1. Consult your merchant plumber—he is an expert in helping you get the most out of your hot water equipment. 2. Have him set the thermostat on your gas water heater at 140°. 3. When cooler water is needed, temper from the "cold" faucet. 4. Hot water acts from 2 to 20 times faster than cold water—use plenty of it as a solvent for grease, grime, and dirt of all kinds. 5. Your water heater should be drained once or twice a month, in accordance with instructions usually attached to the heater. This helps to remove sediment that may have collected from the water supply. 6. In the interest of National Defense, your gas company recommends that you make your present water heater last as long as possible. Your plumber can help you. 7. If you do need new water heating equipment, remember, an automatic gas water heater costs less to buy, far less to operate. 8. Adequate size is important. A water heater that is large enough for your family's needs doesn't get overworked. It lasts longer than a heater that is too small. So when buying, ask your merchant plumber about proper capacity.
