ANAHEIM GAZETTE Established 1870 HENRY KUCHEL, Editor and Publisher 1887-1935 Mrs. Henry Kuchel Theodore B. Kuchel Editors and Publishers The Anaheim Gazette has been owned and edited by the same family since 1875. Published every Thursday at 259 East Center Street, Anaheim, California. Subscription Per Year, $2.00 — Six Months $1.00 Entered as second-class matter at the Post Office at Anaheim, California, under the Act of March 8, 1879. The Task Before This week Tokyo was bombed. Next week is Public Schools week in America. There is no connection—no significance, one to the other, you say? That being true, there is no connection between now and a few years from now, except that one follows the other chronologically. That being true, there is no significance in the fact that youth of today will be citizens, statesmen, soldiers, lawyers, businessmen, and doctors of tomorrow. That being true, there is no importance to the fact that young people, and kids in school today will live in and make the world tomorrow. Sufficient people however, will find the observance of enough importance that record numbers of them are expected to visit public schools here and over the nation next week, and thereby take a more active part in our public school system. They will do so for they see in the bombing of Tokyo that the war is at last being taken to the enemy; that some of the students in schools today will be in on the finish of the job, and that all of them have the task before them in the future of rebuilding what is being torn down in these years of war. and thereby take a more active part in our public school system.
