Mary Davis, Kenneth Corner Are Married
In Rites At Buena Park Congregational
Miss Mary Eleanor Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert S. Davis of West Anaheim, was married to Kenneth Thomas Corner, son of Mrs. Sarah A. Corner of Los Angeles, last Thursday at the Congregational church in Buena Park.
With the ceremony beginnig at 8 p.m., Miss Davis came down the aisle in a full-skirted gown of white frosted organdy with a sweetheart neckline. Her bridal bouquet was of bride's roses and bouvardia showered with orange blossoms.
REV. HICKS OFFICIATES
Rev. Cyril Hicks officiated at the ceremony. The altar was amassed with white peach blossoms and candelabra. Miss Ida Hartman was the maid of honor and wore a floor length dress of rose frosted organdy and carried a colonial bouquet of sweet peas in pink and white shades. Miss Connie Blose and Miss Barbara Bastady were bridesmaids, wearing soft green organdy and carrying colonial bouquets of pink sweetpeas.
Carroll Short, close friend of the groom, was best man and Harold Corner, brother, and Everett Owens were ushers.
150 GUESTS
More than 150 guests attended a reception following the ceremony in the social hall of the church. The bride's parents and Mrs. Sarah Corner greeted the guests. Aiding in the reception duties were Mrs. Wade Blose, Mrs. Nellie Bastady, Miss Corrine Davis, Miss Nellie Davis, Mrs. Harold Corner and Mrs. Charles Corner.
The former Miss Davis is a graduate of Anaheim high school, Frank Wiggins trade school and Fullerton junior college. She has been working at the J. C. Penney company in Anaheim. Mr. Corner is a graduate of Washington schools and is now in the Los Angeles police department as radio technician.
The newlyweds left by plane for Catalina following the reception. They will make their home at 1742 Orchard avenue, Los Angeles.

Held Tuesday at Santa Ana Ebell Club
Mars. Albert Karlen, regent of Mother Colony chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, represented the local group at the Southern Council California state society meeting Tuesday at the Ebell clubhouse in Santa Ana.
The business session began at 11 a.m. and was presided over by Mrs. Frank E. Lee, state regent-elect. Talks were given by stae chairmen and vice-chairmen and by state officers.

Mrs. Frank H. Stanbery, general chairman of the recent state conference, gave her report and Mrs. Adrian Awan, vice-president-elect of the Children of the Amer-
ican Revolution, spoke on the aims of her organization.
Featured speaker at the lunchon program was Miss Ryllis Hemington of the Public Relations department of the Fox West Coast theatres. The mixed chorus of Santa Ana high school with Herbert G. Bickel as conductor presented a musical program.
Grandson Of Pioneers And Bride-Elect Announce Engagement At Recent Party
Henry Kroeger, grandson of the Henry Kroegers, early pioneers of Orange county, and nephew of Mrs. Pauline Brunworth, and his bride-elect, Miss Kathryn Van Maren of Fair Oaks, announced their engagement last week at a party given by the Miss Van Maren's grandmother, Mrs. Adolph Van Maren, at her home near Fair Oaks in Sacramento county.
Mr. Kroeger is the son of Louis Kroeger of Fair Oaks. He graduated from an Anaheim grammar school and attended San Juan high school near Fair Oaks. He is now engaged in business in Sacramento county. She is a graduate of San Juan high school and Sacramento junior college. She is a member of Sigma Phi Kappa sorority.
The couple plan to marry in the spring following the completion of the building of a home in Fair Oaks. They are also expected to come south and to spend a few days with Mrs. Brunsworth in April.

The colored chorus from Oran that sang at the White Temple Methodist church last Sunday were entertained with members of the young people's group at the parsonage, 506 East Center street Sunday. Refreshments were served by Mrs. T. L. Burden, wife of the pastor.
Fremont Musical Revue Many Patriotic Songs
The Fremont Musical Day afternoon and Thursday auditorium and is sponsored by mentions of the school. Price are 10c and 25c and for the many patriotic songs will be featured in the prelude and finish with four acts presented in between. Music groups present include the string ensemble, wood wind ensemble, brass quartet band, majoretteos, eighth grade double sextet, trouveres, seventh grade girls double octet, double octet, seventh grade girls club and instrumental ensembles.
In charge of the instrument music is Edward Jurey and he of the vocal music and organ Miss W. Ethel Campbell. Miss Schact is a graduate of Anaheim Union high school where she was a member of the California Scholarship Federation.
She was recently appointed to the student-faculty committee composing the Commons Council of the college, and is secretary of the Women's Federal Board. Miss Schact was president of Spurs, national honorary service group, and vice president of her class last year. She is majoring in education at the university, with a minor in English and just completed a semester of practice teaching in the fifth grade of the Warm Springs school near Redlands.

Gledhill, jr., son of Mr. and Jack Gledhill of 411 North Street, is now abroad a ship there in the Pacific according to card received by the Gledhill Tuesday. Jack joined the Reserve eight weeks ago and mentioned at San Diego before new assignment.

Larry Dean Bailey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bailey of East Adele street, had his adenoids and tonsils removed Tuesday and is reported as "getting along just fine."
DAUGHTER VISITS
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Braun of Inglewood, son-in-law and daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Thomas L. Burden, were weekend guests of the Burdens. Mrs. Burden is now visiting them in their Inglewood home.
ATTEND FUNERAL
Mrs. Clinton Daniels and Mrs. Jack Gledhill of Anaheim attended the funeral of a close friend, Lloyd Burdick, at Sawtelle Monday.
MARINERS FIRST AID
A First Aid class for members of the Mariner's club will begin tonight at 7 p.m. The class will meet at 9:30 p.m. every Thursday.
PTA Responsibilities In All-Out War Effort Outlined At Convention In San Francisco
Safeguarding the child at home and school in the war effort and the responsibilities of membership in all the war program were considerations made at the re-bi-monthly meeting of the California Congress of Paula and Teachers held in the Hotel Oakland in San Francisco last week.
ACTIVITIES SUGGESTED
The defense committee and the Congress approved a "War Bulletin" to be issued to the units that will outline specific Parent-Teachers activities for war effort. Activities suggested were the support of existing agencies, civilian defense, maintenance of public health programs and registration and identification of children. Units were uregd to vitalize their programs by selecting places of meeting accessible for public conveyance and by insuring that each meeting held actually occurred in the advancement of child fare or served the needs of the situation.
BESWICH OUTLINES
J. C. Beswich of the State Department of Education, a member of the advisory board of thegress, outlined the National Defense Training program which spect to vocational education purpose of this training is to men and women for industry to train military personnel.
Anaheim Ebell Club Appoints Chairman For Annual Flower Show On May 1 and 2
Committee chairmen for the annual Ebell club flier show on May 1 and 2 were named recently by Mrs. O. Greder, general chairman.
All spring flowers will be entered in a number ofifications by the public and Ebell members. A booklet giving the clasifications will be issued in April.

MONTON Musical Revue Given Next Week; Many Patriotic Songs Will Be Featured
The Fremont Musical Revue will be given next Wednesday afternoon and Thursday evening at the Fremont school library and is sponsored by the music and art department of the school. Prices for the afternoon performance 10c and 25c and for the evening show, 15c and 25c.

Barbara Nickles' Engagement Announced At Dinner Party Given Here On Sunday
Mrs. Jennie Nickles of 314 Bush street gave a dinner party Sunday to announce the engagement of her granddaughter, Miss Barbara June Nickles, to Roy Roberts of Santa Ana.
Mrs. Roberts is the son of Mrs. Ella Wilcox. The wedding is to be in the early spring.
The home was decorated in sweet peas and there were place cards for Mr. and Mrs. G. McDivitt and daughter, Lois, of Huntington Park; Mr. and Mrs. Merle Kautsche, Mr. and Mrs. Hattie McGauglin, the honored guest, Miss Barbara Nickles, and bride-groom-elect, Roy Roberts, Paul Calloway, Mrs. E.
