Many Anaheim Families To He Tuesday Evening And Wednesday Affairs Planned Anaheim families will celebrate Christmas this year with many dinners and parties held in the city and elsewhere. Many of the guests of Anaheim people are from other states, and it is sure that our city welcomes them. A few of the affairs planned for Tuesday night and Wednesday follow: Mr. and Mrs. Royal C. Marten will travel to Santa Monica Christmas to enjoy a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Hudson. Others present will be Hadden, Duval and Jarvais Hudson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marten, and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Marten. The Hudson home overlooks the ocean and the guests will be seated during dinner by a large window. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Turner of Oklahoma City, Okla., will be honored guests at a Christmas dinner given at the home of Mrs. N. Reed of Tustin. Present will be Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Turner and daughter, Shirley Ann, and Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Turner, all of Anaheim. Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Archer will be hosts to a quiet Christmas dinner Wednesday. Present will be Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Archer and Mrs. P. E. Shetenhelm, Sunday, December 29, Mr. and Mrs. Archer, Mrs. Shetenhelm, and Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Archer will be among Williams of Alhambra, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilmarth of Bellflower, Miss Minnie Yonge of Long Beach, and Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Yongé of Anaheim. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Reafsnyder and daughter, Donna, will spend Christmas day with Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hardcastle of Santa Ana. Special guests will be Mr. and Mrs. Julius Christensen and children of Jamestown, New York. Mr. Reafsnyder is expected home from Kansas where he was called last week. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jackson of West Broadway will entertain Christmas Eve at their home. Gifts will be exchanged and a dinner served. Present will be Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Niquist and son, Helmer, jr., and daughter, June, of Lake Arrowhead; Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Merrifield and son, Gilbert, of Brea; Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Bell and son, LeRoy jr., and daughter, Anita, of Anaheim; Mrs. Fannie Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. A. G. A tiny replica of the mango scene was placed on a small table in the living room,and a beautiful fully decorated tree centered the Christmas appointments.An informal afternoon of sewing an conversation was enjoyed by the guests.Refreshments of fruitcake and coffee were served. Local Happenings Daughter is Born A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur LeRoy Smart, 530 South Los Angeles street, Thursday. The baby was born at the Fullerton General hospital. Ganahls Due Home Soon Ernest Ganahl and his daughter, Mary Louise, will be home Christmas. They are returning from an eastern tour during which they bought a new car at Detroit. Visit in San Francisco Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Ballinger of East Adele street, left Saturday for a three week's visit with Mrs. Ballinger's daughter, Mrs. H. A. Keenig of San Francisco. Mrs. Kennedy Recovering Friends of Mrs. John B. Kennedy, former resident of Anaheim and now of Santa Monica, will be glad to know she is recovering satisfactorily after an operation performed recently. Richard Melrose in Pensacola Miss Winifred Melrose received word recently that her nephew, Richard Melrose, had arrived at Pensecola for aviation training. Baileys to Move Soon Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Phidellis Class to Meet The Phidellis women's class will meet December 27 at the home of Mrs. George Allen, 413 East Broadway. The meeting will begin with a luncheon at 12:30. Mrs. George Fendley Hostess to Group Mrs. George Fendley was a gracious hostess Thursday afternoon to 60 members of the Wesley Methodist Circle at her home, 529 South Los Angeles street. While a gift exchange was in progress, Mrs. Fendley surprised everyone by presenting all 60 guests with a handmade example of her needlework, including towels, pillowcases, scarves, etc. All articles were exquisitely made and a complete surprise to the guests. Mrs. G. C. Rector made the Christmas story live anew as she led the devotionals. During the program, Mrs. Fern Jeffries and Mrs. Ardis Adams sang a lovely Christmas duet. Carol Adams entertained with a song, and Sylvia Jefferies gave an interesting reading. Ganell Jeffries sang and Connie Woods presented a reading. Mrs. Anna Turner and daughter, Elsie, who were unable to attend, sent a huge box of home-made candy, which was enjoyed by all. Young women of the circle served coffee and home-made cakes on trays cleverly appointed in the holiday motif. Favors were tiny Christmas trees with gum-bases bases. Circle I Meets At Harlow Horne Mrs. Orman Hart was a graciious hostess Thursday afternoon when 12 members of the Circle I of the White Temple church met at her home for a Christmas party. Mrs. Harry Jayne led the inspiring devotionals and Mrs. B. L. Chandler was in charge of the study of the book, "Dangerous Opporunity," a treatment of conditions in China. An exchange of gifts around the lighted Christmas tree began the informal social hour, after which Christmas cookies and other refreshments were served.
