Mrs. George Holden Entertainment Hallowe'en is Incentive for Enjoyable Event Mrs. George Holden entertained a group of friends Monday evening with a gay Hallowe'en party at her home, 316 North East street. Orange and black predominated the Hallowe'en color scheme, and traditional games were played, including bobbing for apples. Winners at various activities were Mrs. Melton Forster and Mrs. Harold Boyce, both of Santa Ana. Assisting Mrs. Holden in hostess duties was Mrs. A. B. Wilmsen. Enjoying the evening's entertainment were Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Council to Plan Girl Scout Week "Girl Scout week" will be the subject of discussion at the Girl Scout council meeting to be held November 7 at 9 o'clock in the morning at the home of Mrs. Ernest Ganahl, 501 North Clementine street. "Girl Scout Cookie week" will be held the week beginning November 3, it was announced. A 6:30 o'clock buffet was served after which many interesting games were played. During the game of "oftunes" the news of Miss Hein's engagement and call of marriage was read. The wedding will take place at an Orange county chapel November 20. Miss Wauneva Gunnett, M.Irene Kettler and Miss Sy Dow were winners at various games. Lois Thimble Club Council to Plan Girl Scout Week "Girl Scout week" will be the subject of discussion at the Girl Scout council meeting to be held November 7 at 9 o'clock in the morning at the home of Mrs. Ernest Ganahl, 501 North Clementine street. "Girl Scout Cookie week" will be held the week beginning November 3, it was announced. The regular observance of the cookie week was to be held this week, but due to Hallowe'en preparations it was postponed. A theme for each day of the "Girl Scout Week" will be carried out. Sunday is church day; Monday, homemaking; Tuesday, arts and crafts; Wednesday, outdoors; Thursday, international friendship; Friday, good citizenship and Saturday, health and service day. Hallowe'en Party Given by Club Spooks and hobgoblins were guests of honor Tuesday evening when the Anaheim Townsend club No. 1 held a gala Hallowe'en party at the headquarters on East Center street. Mrs. Maud Comstock acted as program chairman, introducing several members who entertained. W. McClune played a selection on his mouth harp, and Mrs. Eva Webb entertained with a piano number. R. V. Daugherty gave an exceptionally interesting skit with a mechanical doll which danced a few motivated Hawaiian numbers. C. T. Stilson gave a short talk using as his topic, "Home." Pumpkin pie, coffee and popcorn were served in true Hallowe'en fashion, with Mrs. Lauretta Ferris as chairman of the refreshment committee. Jo Ann Lakeman Marks Birthday Little Jo Ann Lakeman was honored Sunday by a group of relatives and friends gathered at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. J. A. Endicott of La Palma road, on the occasion of her 10th birthday. Dinner was served late in the afternoon, and the day was spent informally. Decorations were in the Hallowe'en motif. Feting Jo Ann were Jacob Lakeman and son, Boyd, Mr. and Comstock were surprised by a group of friends and relatives gathered to wish her a "happy birthday" was Mrs. George Ellis, when she was honored Friday evening at the family home on West Orangewood road. Mrs. Martha E. Dickenson, grandmother of the honored guest, presented her with a lovely lace tablecloth and birthday cake. The assembled guests presented Mrs. Ellis with a coffee table. Supper was served after games of Chinese checkers. Sorority Members Hear Book Reviews Miss Margaret Allan was hostess to Beta Sigma Phi at the home of her sister, Mrs. Harwood Larson, 550 Clementine street, Monday evening. Assisting in hostess duties were Mrs. James Karrick and Mrs. Larson. Special guests were Mrs. Robert Morter, Mrs., Kenneth Burdin, Miss Alice Williamson and Miss Mary Fine. "When the Bough Breaks," and "So Perish the Roses" were reviewed by Miss Madeline Moore, guest speaker of the evening. Las Amigas Study Cancels Meeting Announcement has been made that the Las Amigas study will not meet Tuesday, November 5, as previously planned because of the election. Dr. Cranston is a graduate of Boston university, where she earned her Ph.D. degree. She is well qualified to speak to a woman's organization.
