New Officers of Rebekah Lodge Installed Friday New officers of Lois Rebekah lodge, headed by Mrs. Gertrude Rohwer of Long Beach as noble grand, were formally installed last Friday evening at the I.O.O.F. hall. More than 200 persons witnessed the ceremony. Other officers installed with Mrs. Rohwer were Mrs. Anna Lampman, vice grand; Mrs. Berthyle Reisinger, recording secretary; Mrs. Elsie Borth, financial secretary; Mrs. Lizzie Nylen, treasurer; Mrs. Mary Mitchell, Mrs. Pearl Fergus and Miss Hannah Horwitz, trustees. Heading a staff of 20 installing officers and escorts was Mrs. Hazel V., Ryan of Santa Ana, district deputy president. Her chief assistant was her deputy marshal, Mrs. Sue Walker. Mrs. Bessie Curtis, junior past noble guard, and Mrs. Anna Lampman, vice grand, received gifts from the lodge, the past noble grand's jewel being presented to Mrs. Curtis by Miss Barbara Myers. Clayton Allen, drill SOCIETY Young Republicans Stage Dance Here The Young Republicans of Orange county entertained their members and friends at a dance Saturday night, at the Anaheim Ebell clubhouse, with Clarence Williams and his orchestra providing the music. Present at the dance were Lotus H. Loudon, congressional candidate; T. K. Gowan and Sam Collins, candidates for state assembly. Other guests were Cletus Owen, president of the Young Republicans of Los Angeles county; and Frank Waters, assemblyman from the Beverly-Wilshire district. Patrons and patronesses for the occasion were Judge and Mrs. Franklin G. West, Judge and Mrs. Frank Drumm, Judge and Mrs. George K. Methodist Women To Form Group Plans for uniting all the women's organizations of White Terrace Methodist church into the Women's Division of Christian Service were formulated last day. Members of the executive boards of the various groups with Dr. Irvin A. Engle, new director of the church, and selected Mrs. George Barfoot, Mrs. E.B.Williamson and Mrs.Frank Smith as a nominating committee. Actual organization of the group will not take place until September, it was indicated that the nominating committee was structured to report at that time that meeting will be arranged. Mrs. Gene Frantz, Mrs.F.West, Mrs.W.G.Gunnell and George Tedrick: Mrs.Floyd Cracken was named public chairman. Mrs. Eva Boyd Named to Office Mrs. Eva Boyd, member of Anaheim Business and Professionsal Women's club, was named trict parliamentarian during Southern District B.P.W.,vention last Sunday at Carlsbad. Agnes White and Art Clodt Wed Mr. and Mrs. Art Clodt (Agnes White) revealed their marriage in Seattle on July 12 to their friends this week when they returned from their honeymoon and established their home at 816 North Palm street. While in the north Mr. and Mrs. Clodt visited Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Keefer, former Anaheim people now residing at McMinniville, Ore. The new Mrs Clodt is a graduate of Fullerton union high school and has been employed in the office of the Industrial Fuel Supply company here, Mr. Clodt, the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Clodt of Burton avenue, was graduated from Anaheim union high school and is employed at Harbeson's. Hanson and son, David, returned last Saturday from a three-weeks' vacation trip which took them to Yellowstone National park, the Black Hills, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minneapolis and Colorado Springs, among other points. They visited friends and relatives in many localities during the trip. Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Martenet, Jr., are vacationing this week in the northern part of the state. WCTU Resolution Supports Pastor The county executive board of the Women's Christian Temperance union, meeting last week, passed a resolution expressing faith in Rev. E. Dow Hoffman, pastor of the Fullerton Methodist church, who is a central figure in a court action. The resolution said: "In view of the recent attempts at smearing the reputation of Rev. E. Dow Hoffman of the Methodist church of Fullerton and the regrettable newspaper publicity given the slanderous charges, we the county executive of the W.C.T.U. wish to express our unqualified faith in the honor and integrity of Rev. Hoffman. We regret the unfortunate incident." England has had four notable earthquake shocks within the past 55 years. FIRST PRESBYTRIAN "How Haunted is Your House?" is the subject chosen by Rev. Stanley Frederick George for his sermons at 9 and 11 o'clock next Sunday morning. Rev. George will return from sessions of the Presbyterian Synod of California meeting at Occidental college tomorrow until Wednesday for the services. CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCH "Truth" is the subject of the Lesson-Sermon on Sunday in all Churches of Christ Scientist. These verses from the Psalms constitute the Golden Text: "O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory . . . For thy mercy is great above the heavens; and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds." The Lesson-Sermon includes also these words of the prophet Isaiah: "Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfies not? . . .
