"HIGHER CAKES!" says Mrs. W. H. Kirkman, mother of seven
Biggest Shortening Discovery in 29 Years!
Do one simple thing and see an amazing change in your cakes—just use New "Sure-Mix" Crisco!
Yes—we can promise three exciting improvements, because a remarkable discovery now makes Crisco vitally different from any other home shortening we know of.
Thousands of cakes tested!
Thousands of cakes we made with various shortenings proved "Sure-Mix" Crisco cakes were higher, up to 15% higher, depending on type of cake. Lighter, too! And tenderer—with a special tenderness only "Sure-Mix" Crisco gives. Delicious!
No more batters that separate
Make your next cake with New "Sure-Mix" Crisco. The minute you start to mix your batter you'll see that Crisco is different from any shortening you ever bought. It blends completely with other ingredients... the batter never separates or looks "curdled." That's one reason why cakes can turn out higher, lighter, so much more tender!
FLAKY PIES, DIGESTIBLE FRIED FOODS!
Count on all-vegetable Crisco for tender, flaky pastry... correctly fried foods are as digestible as if baked. We know of no shortening that comes to you purer, fresher, creamier than Crisco!

Funds Requested For New Airport
Highway Superintendent Arthur A. Beard Tuesday submitted a request to the board of supervisors for a $14,000 appropriation in next year's county budget for minimum improvement of the new county airport to a point where it would be usable.
Grading and preparation of the landing field to make the airport usable if the county gets no federal aid from the Civil Aeronautics authority. If the usual 80 per cent contribution to approved air ports is granted by the CAA, he said, the airport fund would amount to approximately $70,000, which would build and equip a complete air port with a high CAA rating.

Highway Superintendent Arthur A. Beard Tuesday submitted a request to the board of supervisors for a $14,000 appropriation in next year's county budget for minimum improvement of the new county airport to a point where it would be usable.
Beard said that the $14,000 would finance sufficient further landing field to make the airport usable if the county gets no federal aid from the Civil Aeronautics authority. If the usual 80 per cent contribution to approved air ports is granted by the CAA, he said, the airport fund would amount to approximately $70,000, which would build and equip a complete air port with a high CAA rating.
