Anaheim, Calif., March 21, 1940 SOCIETY D. A. R. State Regent Lauds Anaheim Club Mrs. Charles Pearson, Mrs. David Toms, Mrs. Nellie Seitz, Mrs. Kennedy and Miss Elenora A. Parker attended the 32nd state conference of the Daughters of the American Revolution last week at Riverside. The highlight of the sessions was the yearly reports of the 93 chapter regents. The state regent, Mrs. John Whittier Howe Hodge, remarked that while she had no desire to comment on any particular chapter's report, she did feel that there is one chapter in the state that greatly merits commendation. She said Mother Colony chapter is outstanding, being the only chapter in the state maintaining a house. Several efforts had been made in various parts of the state to have chapters undertake such a project, but all such efforts have been complete failures, she said. Again Mother Colony deserves special mention because the chapter not only maintains an exhibit, but is preserving early history by so doing, and thus is doing a great work educationally, Mrs. Hodge said.
