COUPON Send to Address City I am enclosing $1.50, plus 10 cents for tax and mailing. The only thing I've tested since I burst on the earthly scene is milk and warm water sweetened with a grain or two of sugar. In fact, water was all I tasted, and if you're chemically inclined and are saying smugly to yourself that pure water is a colorless, tasteless liquid with two parts of hydrogen to one part of oxygen, remember that it was sweetened, smarty. The second day I started putting the milk away. I'm just dying for the day to come when I can have strained spinach and grated carrots. When I was drinking my water the nipple on the bottle went 'plop' and folded like a top silk opera hat. Because I was right on the nipple or vice versa and because I hadn't heard any noise of that sort before, it scared the devil out of me. I didn't know what happened. The nipple was there one minute all fat and red and the next minute it was gone. Just like that. I was the most surprised person in that cradle. And the way it went off I thought the city hall had collapsed or something. A city hall is a place where city fathers make laws for their subjects to break. The conversation swirls to and fro in this room between adults and is shot with mention of me. I catch fragments now and then and in the light of facts mentioned learn that I was about 16 inches long, danity, tiny and in short I must've been a beautiful baby 'cause look at what a dame I am now. I heard too, that my conduct is ideal, which is giving me ideas. I have been good, patient, long-suffering, and where has gotten me? But I'm not kicking really. I'm quite satisfied and my complexion would clear I'd be lots happier. But all bad look weather-beaten for a wremember. And I'm no different from other babies—in that respect adds an admirer. If you're terested in eyes, mine look they might have been borrowed from April skies. My littlest brother came all side my cradle and made a face me and I smiled at him. Know how kids are. That courageged him and he tried outdo himself, standing to opening his mouth and closing as if it was a saloon door making his eyes go in all directions of the compass at O Mama saw him and smiled told him not to do that because wasn't such an elegant prairie I could have told him that, could talk. Freshmen Hi-Y Has Basketball Session Twenty-seven members of the Anaheim Freshman Hi-Y, at their regular meeting last Monday night, held a basket ball night at the YMCA. The program and social activities committees organized and ran off the basketball tournament. The members of the committees were Warren Heckman, Wayne King, Forrest Parker, Gordon Morley, Harold Wright. It's amazing how some people constitutionally equal, show an ingrown disposition to deprive me of my rights. I believe in live and let live and enjoy the things we get with our allotted niche regardless of the scope of appetites. Though the man across the high way may not raise his children my way, and perhaps conducts his business like a schoolboy's marble game; he may dress like Bobbie Crusoe—that's his privilege to do so, but at least he should admit I have the right to do the same. If I deem a pet canary in my home is necessary or my kiddies think their dog is just the grandest thing on earth, far from me to call the sheriff just because my neighbors cherish a desire to play their radio all night for all it's worth. While we criticize these nations giving warlike demonstrations that they'd like to turn the world into a bloody hippodrome, it should also be conceded that more tolerance is needed, but remember that the place to start its practice is at home. The aim of the Freshman Hi-Y in carrying out the purpose "To create, maintain, and extend throughout the school and community high standards of Christion character" is to help acquaint and associate the freshmen with the activities of high school age.
