The unreported fire occurred at the Independencia Mexican colony on Berry street near Katella road. The one-room home of Saloma Navarro was destroyed during his absence, and a short time later an outbuilding at the place also burned. Loss did not exceed $200. Damage of $3500 occurred at the S. W. Hand dairy at Smeltzer and Newhope roads, west of Santa Ana, when fuel oil exploded and set fire to a milking barn. Machinery was damaged as well as the building. An automobile, ownership of which has not been traced, was destroyed by fire at the corner of Anaheim and Placentia roads. Officials could not identify the car since the metal practically melted. J. A. Sleeper of Los Angeles lost a small lath house and two acres of grass at his place at Orange Park Acres, near Orange. Damage was small.
